If the national press grabs hold of it, the university will have no choice but to deal with it, which they are probably already doing. I wouldn't be surprised if the A.D. was responsible for the leak getting out in the first place.

If #punchgate turns out to be true, I hope the locals will remember which small time show producer had the nads to risk his media credentials and ask the tough questions while the rest of the old guard lap dogs ignored it.

I will listen and support accordingly.

Why do we look bad? It's a message board with gossip. UF boards have claimed Billy Gonzales nailed Shelly Meyer, Urban nailed a coed(s) and Percy Harvin punched Billy Gonzales in practice. Have any of those been validated by the media or the individuals involved? Did those "rumors" ruin the UF program and drive potential coaches and recruits away? People think way too highly of themselves if they think anything they say on here as an affect on the state of a program.

Been following this since the beginning yesterday, painstakingly reading thru every post and checking other places etc. not claiming to have any info or insider info. Haven't seen anything that points to it not happening:/ whether it did or did not happen, it already is to big to just pass over. This will get bigger, and get more attention. It has to be investigated now.

On another note, BORO, thanks for hanging in there. I feel for you because whether your info was correct or not about Gruden it seems certain people can't get over that. Been pretty straight forward in here and level headed. Sucks that people can't move on.

Also wish there was a sub thread where any info(even current/former player tweet, and reporters, or people with ties to the program or player on this forum) could post without discussion. It's way to hard ready thru all this lol.

I don't know what is true or isn't, but I can objectively say this. It is very apparent that we have more talent on the field and were in position to win a lot of games this year. It is also very apparent, from myself and national media, that the coaching is in serious question. If said allegations are true and Jones is fired, this could end up being a positive for this university, as long as THE AD IS GONE with him and we throw some damn money at a proven coach.

Wonder what that surprise meeting was last night that the players had to attend was about. Really odd timing to need a mandatory meeting called on a Sunday night. Or maybe it's not odd:/

I've just learned that there is so much negativity surrounding our team right now, that it's not worth the conversation here on V-nation. I just sit back and watch the cyber coaches talk about all the mess & the team; whether it be true or not. We should all want to protect the team / boys specifically....
As parents, our sons are your entertainment, and I have enough to contend with other than the messiness that goes on, on these boards which is borderline crazy, and we (THE PARENTS) have to deal with our sons first and whatever they may be feeling after each game- then our immediate people who aren't fans of the Vols, asking us dumb azz questions on Monday morning, or leaving you a note on desk with smiley faces for the way the games turns out, then read/listen to the MEGA NEGA VOLS (bandwagon fans) on top of it. I throw my hands up.:thud:

"take notes, find out who's with you or against you. Write it down on a piece of paper and put in your back pocket"

I understand that clearly. Ride or die...

Why should an investigation take place before some one besides forum posters in chat rooms reports it? What if I spread a rumor that he spits on people? Should we investigate that as well?

A reporter saying he has it on "good authority" and has "confirmed" it is more than Internet rumor. If we're Stoke's confirmation then he's definitely a pee-wee hack of a reporter. If he's actually talked to a player/former player then that's enough of a question to start asking some questions.
