Yes I have been supportive of CBJ. That was my point. When I would be supportive of BJ to them they would say "I don't want to tell you I told you so, but when things go bad, I told you so". I just refused to believe them. Now it's kinda becoming clear what they meant.

This was just brought up on the morning show. Unfortunately I didn't get to hear what was said, only to hear Heather say the Crowder incident was just talked about and is hot on the message boards right now.

You've got no reason to call out this poster like this. I've heard the same kind of stuff from two sources, a parent and a letterman. Until recently I chose to overlook it because I thought Butch had us on the right track. Not anymore...looks like there is more than smoke on this one.

Thanks Boro... That adds a bit.
Despite the ones who have discredited Crowder on whether or not he deserved to be the starting center, he is one that ALL of the OLs look up to and have gone to for advice and leadership. For CBJ to have lost his cool on this episode didn't sit well then and still doesn't with the current players or newer VFLs.

If this rumor is true (and it is starting to get legs it seems), then the university would be negligent not to cut bait.

The university turning a blind eye on a player assault would be a bigger black eye to public perception, and recruiting.

Hell OSU fired a coach that won 5 national titles and 13 conference titles for punching a player (granted it was an opposing player...). There are lines that just cant be crossed and that's one of them.

Let me clear...what I've heard does not go to the level of hitting a player. This thread was the first I've heard of that. But there is a level of unhappiness throughout a large segment of the players over the way Butch treats them, and his Jekyll/ Hyde nature. I've heard it for a while, from people who would know.

I still don't want to believe it.

If Butch did punch one of his players, why is this just now being reported? I don't like the timing of it. It very hard for the victim to have credibility a few months later. What about the other coaches? Did they witness this assault? Where was he punched? Was the player injured in any manner? These are all relevant questions.

Not for nothing, but when I played HS football back in the 80's, it was common for our HC to hit players on the helmet with his hand, push, grab their face masks, or throw his keys at us to get our attention. Obviously, what you are accusing BJ of doing must be far more serious.

This will get addressed somehow, and soon. Imagine a national reporter asks Crowder about the "incident" and he says "no comment." Then it gets real. Imagine Jones comes out and talks about the "incident," but doesn't tell the whole truth. Then the whole truth will be told and/or found out. The only way this goes away is if NOTHING happened, or what happened has been blown out of proportion (no disrespect, SV). It will still have to be addressed, either way.

Really? Name names or it's just another rumor. Fact is anyone can come on here and say they heard this or heard that and never back it up but sure stirs the pot. Internet keyboard warriors...

If CBJ had hit a player he'd be gone. It's as simple as that... IMHO people are starting this crap just to pile on in an attempt to get rid of Jones. All they are doing is hurting the program...Congrats

There are details related much earlier in this thread about the type of assault. Nobody knows what is true.

What seems likely though is that this was squashed at the time internally, and the current level of discontent has caused it to arise again.

It's not my rumor. I don't need to name anyone. I just said I've heard from a parent and a letterman for a while that some players are unhappy. If you don't like it do what I've done for months and ignore it.

I would think you would never trust sources again after the Gruden to UT stuff didn't pan out like your sources thought.
