Yes. It appears that an "incident" did occur. What actually happened appears to still be speculation at this point. At least on LWS end of it.

Some of us appreciated the good info. It was the garbage that those looking for notoriety added that created the beast that it became. It was as though it took on a life of its own.

Yep. Keeping a sub-par coach and staff longer will make the program elite again much sooner.

I want to agree with you but experience tells me differently. If I remember correctly, most of us who participated to whatever degree in the Gruden drama agreed that Jones would need several seasons to rebuild from the smoking heap at the time. Some even predicted what we are now seeing, a loss of faith during the long process and a derail.

I was hoping that this thread would at least bring up some of the intrigues about Jumper. Personally, I didn't know who he was except - "dang, that guy gets burned a lot". I'm referring to the Oklahoma game. There were many posting lots of questions like "Why him at MLB, can't we do better and put in one/some of our stud 5*'s?"

Now, here's what I'd like to know.. hypothetically and conspiratorially... Does CBJ as head coach care who gives money? I wouldn't think so. So where would this pressure to play him come from? Hart? Cheek? How would they approach Jones and raise this with him? "Look Butch.. you gotta play this guy, or we won't be able to put leather sofa's in the new student union?".

I seriously doubt, and hope that any of this actually happened. I hope Jumper got to play on his merits. He's not the only sucky player we have.. But.. if it did, what goes on behind the scenes!

Find a good lingare football team to watch that's my plan. I really can't watch the VOLS anymore after a decade I just can't stomach the pain any longer

Well, I can really only speak for myself. I'm just sick of the perpetual rebuild and failure. I'm not sure what the solution is or if there is one.

The Gruden days were some of my favorite on here. Glad some of you guys that passed along knowledge around then are still around and posting again. I think most that were mad at that time didn't do their own homework to see what was really going on behind closed doors. Glad the angry birds didn't keep you guys away for good. To pass along information and get roasted for it... No thank you. You guys are better than I am.
