Sorry for another thread ab this damned thing, BUT, 3 things real quick:
1. Has anyone ever seen the refs adjust the clock so many times in 1 game? They added time @ least 6 times during the game. Crazy.
2. Had we run the playclock down with 39 left instead of calling a timeout, it would have eaten that infamous second up.
3. Janzen's hit knocked the ball loose on the long passplay. (3a) AND his head and elbow were out of bounds. Unbelievable.

I'm watching it again right now. 2 more things. Does a Unsportsmanlike carry over to OT according to the rules? Also, is the ref supposed to sprint to get the ball, sprint to set it, and frantically get out of the way so it can be snapped by the Off, regardless of the subs issues?

You know, after watching, I remember one more interesting thing.....

After the officials watched the entire completion after JJ's penalty, realized it was a completion and was in bounds with the clock at :15 and ticking, they were magically "buzzed." Well that pass play that never was started with a clock set at :25. When the official asked the clock to be reset, he said it was to be reset at :26. He helped up two fingers and then six; I remember it distinctly

At the time, I thought "that's not the correct time.....but what is one second?" Guess I was wrong.

This...the clock was already set at 25. Where did the extra second come from?

Holy cow...I remember seeing/hearing that now that you bring it up.

The ref just made it up. They reset it to :26. I know this because he said "please reset the game clock to twenty-SIX seconds", emphasizing the six. He also held up his fingers, like I previously indicated.

However, the person at the stadium had ALREADY RESET THE GAME CLOCK TO :25, and so had ESPN on their game ticker!!! And then once the ref said that, ESPN changed their ticker. Apparently everyone knew how much time was on that clock except for the refs.........utterly disgraceful.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could go back an look at that an see what warranted an extra second on the clock. At the time, I was like oh well it's just 1 sec but obviously it made a huge difference. Even the man next to me wondered the same and was like WTF?

I thought I remembered looking at the scoreboard right when he said reset to 26, and saw it was already at 0:26.

I'm not sure what you saw, but from what I saw, just after he said "twenty-six" the camera panned out to show the stadium, and the clock there said :25, as did ESPN's game clock at the bottom of my screen.
