And she isn't looking for confrontation?

She could have opted out of this at any time by resigning and she has chosen not to.

She is breaking the law willfully, doing interviews over her stance, living up her 5 minutes of fame.

Of course she is; she's getting the evangelical crowd whipped up into a frenzy and they're starting their 'our religious rights are under attack" BS; even though nobody's religious rights have been affected at all.

When you have Josh Feuerstein starting rallies for you, you probably should re-evaluate the stance you're taking.

Hey Dawg, Walmart sells an incredible product called a mirror. You should go there, buy one, take it home and stare at it for a while, just saying. :)

On a side note, her argument is weakened because her own marriage history. Bible is clear about marriage/divorce/remarriage. Makes her look very silly when she seems to picking and choosing what to believe.

To be fair, the Bible also says anyone can be repentant. King David was an adulterer and a murderer.

To make an example out of her, that's the way the left operates.

Right.

Forget the fact that she's defied a court order to do the job she was elected to do.

"It's how the left operates" - what? No, it's how the law operates. People who defy sitting judges legal orders willfully should expect the same treatment irrespective of their religious or political views.

It's hysterical to watch people like you desperately try to make this issue into a some sort of subjective political witch hunt where she's being persecuted by the liberals. Heck, Biopsy called her a Democrat, lolwut.

That's convenient.

Too bad she's not a Muslim, they never would have perp walked her or put her in jail. And yes, an extremely liberal president pushed this gay marriage bs.

She won't step down because she wants to prevent gay marriage. It's obvious.

She wants her ****ing name off the license, sounds reasonable to me, because her religious beliefs do not sanction gay marriage. Let the ****ing County take her name off the marriage license and move on.

Uh, SCOTUS read the Constitution and decided that it shockingly.... applied to all citizens equally irrespective of the arbitrary morality foisted on the nation by the religious.

Perhaps you can connect the dots for me and show me where Obama's vote counted in the decision making process. You can bang on Obama for a lot of things he legitimately has fuq'd up but this dumb women choosing to defy a court order is not his fault or his problem.

This, no matter what her personal beliefs are, she works for the State and should act according to what the laws of the State are. If she feels those law directly conflict with her own beliefs, then she should step down.

She works for the county.

Just clarifying.

Excellent point

She shouldn't be in a position where her personal morality would keep her from doing her job.

I wonder how this lady's supporters would react if some hippy PETA chick got a job at KFC and refused to sell chicken because it violated her conscience.

Fair comparison

Thanks, havent paid much attention to this, but the same point remains

I brought it up earlier, I'd love to see the county commission pass a resolution that it will no longer issue any marriage licenses. Just for the entertainment value because there would be nothing the Fed Courts could do.

When she was elected to her job there was no court ruling that was forcing her to preform a service against her religious beliefs.

Public - Private. No comparison.

There are already Sheriffs is some states who will not issue carry permits to anyone even though its state law.

The law in the state requires that counties issue marriage licenses, so the county commission cannot pass such a resolution.

In Alabama, there are multiple counties that aren't issuing marriage licenses because the law in AL allows counties to issue marriage licenses as opposed to requiring them to do so.

But she was elected and sworn to perform the duties of the office correct? Didn't say she could go off the page if she disagreed with them if they changed at a later date. I'm sorry, I am all for religious freedoms, but this case does not have a leg to stand on. Either she perform the duties of the office she was elected for, or she step down.

I don't want to club seals. If my boss came to me tomorrow and told me that my job now requires clubbing baby seals, I would quit my job.

Job descriptions change all the time.
