Country music thread

Also, I've seen a lot of people list albums from late 2016 as their album of the year for 2017, how does that work? Is there a certain time frame where it can be considered?

so here's a question. Maybe none of y'all listen though, so it's all for naught.

I love Jimmy Buffett. Not the concert stuff, the buried tracks that never get played anywhere. Distantly in Love, Wonder Why We Ever Go Home, Death of An Unpopular Poet, Tire Swing, Ringling Ringling, California Promises, Little Miss Magic, Brahma Fear, Biloxi and soooo many others. Do you all listen to those songs? I'm pretty sure NochNoch does, but I might be mistaken and I'm too lazy to go through the searches to see the handful of Buffett discussions that have come up in my decade here. Anyways, I think there's a definite twinge of country in a lot of the songs I like. If you do listen, am I crazy or do you hear it too?

I've been listenting to him for three weeks straight.

Last Mango in Paris is a favorite of mine

Jason Isabell nominated for cma country album of the year. Sucks it's probably his worst album yet, but well deserved as an artist

Evidently Evan Felker gives alcoholic douchebags a bad name; sure can sing and write though.

Anything happen recently? I know there were some issues with bad shows last year and he took a little time off, seemed like the reports of the drunken shows kinda dried up after that, was hoping he had gotten a bit of a handle on things.

My girlfriend knows them fairly well from the Tulsa scene, I don't know of any specific recent incidents, but I hear he's kind of losing his grip on things. Too bad, but it happens too often with brilliant artistic types.

Gotcha. I knew there were a couple of shows early last year where there were, at best, comments/jokes about how wasted he was on stage and, at worst, demands for money back by people who said he could barely perform. From there I saw a couple comments from other artists encouraging him to get well, then some time off, and then all went quiet on the subject.

Fast forward to now and they are just about to release the newest album and go out on another tour so I was hoping things might have improved for him.

There's a video of him doing "Feelin Good Again" at an impromptu acoustic deal at Steamboat, he's absolutely ripped but damn he is good.

Did you just include Big & Rich on the "good" side of that lineup? I mean, there's plenty of else wrong with your statement but that alone seems egregious.

Didn't even notice them to be honest lol. They had a few good songs. 8th of November is good.
