Country music thread

Huge Sara fan here also. Smokin' body and a voice I could listen to forever. What's everyone think of Sugarland? I like them but I've heard alot of country fans lately that don't care for them.

How the lead singer of Sugarland got a job singing is beyond me. Her voice is terrible

Apparently you have never seen her sing live. She is a better singer than 75% of the artists that are out there right now.

I've never wanted to.

I'll take Martina McBride, Sara Evans, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, Kelly Pickler, Allison Kraus, hell even Trisha Yearwood over that voice of hers.

If sounding like a cat being neutered is good, I'd hate to hear bad.

while i can agree with you on the bon jovi part, I do like her voice. Taylor Swift, I'm not sold on. Martina McBride used to be good. Now she just tries to hit the high note as often as possible, whether she needs to or not. It gets old. But Sarah Evans, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, and even Gretchen Wilson are some that I like. Something about a woman that actually sings real country music. Is it too much to ask for a fiddle or a steel guitar with women's music? Of course a lot of the new male acts have thrown the staples of country out the door too.

Amen. I really like the Shooter song "Solid Country Gold", about the sad state of country music today

Um, other than mentioning IH, i can't find much to like about it, Craig Morgan, in my opinion, is really going down the crapper music wise
I really enjoy it. It's a lot of fun and it praises the hardworking farmer. Fun song, but not best in years. I'd have to do some thinking on that. While essentially kicked out of country, and not as country themed as some of their other stuff, the Dixie Chicks "Not Ready To Make Nice" comes to immediate mind for recent songs. But I'll have to think about actual country songs if no one considers that song country. And attack me if you want for supporting the Dixie Chicks, but they have their right to stand up and voice their opinion no matter where or who they are.

Haven't heard it, but I do like Shooter, so I just purchased it off iTunes.
