I think I was on IGN or something and they have some nice screen shots. As for the 360, I would want one but only for 1 year and 1 game, this one. Next year the PS3 will have the best version of NCAA. Problem is, projected retail value 600 bones-ouch.

football games are much better on xbox than ps. unless they made up a ton of ground in that department.

Now I have not seen any sports titles for the PS3 but from the action games and teasers I have seen, the PS3 is more powerful than anything on the market. The graphics were crazy and the gameplay was smooth. I agree that the 360 has some killer graphics but I am excited to see the PS3 sports games when they arrive. You can't go wrong with 360 graphics and extras this year though.

in my opinion other than franchise/dynasty, online is what makes a sports game and there is nothing that comes close to live on the market.

Fact of the matter is the 360 has a better graphics chipset than the PS3. The PS3 can crunch numbers a bit faster, but it's GPU isn't quite as good. What does this mean? 95% of games released will be pretty much exactly the same on either platform. The difference visually will be far less than it is with PS2 and XBOX. Real question for some is the online play and Live is solid here. Sony might have a good service too, but I don't see it stacking up to Live which has been about 5 years in making and developed as an integral part of the 360 experience. I hope Sony has a great service, too. I'm just not optimistic given their online scheme so far with the PS2.

You're paying $200 more for a BluRay drive so Sony can push their format. If Playstation had existed 20 years ago, Beta might have won over VHS. Sony is not giving you the choice of buying that seperately like MS and the HD-DVD drive. It's a bargain, but unless you have a HD set or will in the next 2 years, BluRay will not mean anything to you. I'm looking forward to it but I've also got a nice 50" dlp.

I realllllllly wanna get xbox live for this new game... is the headset and everything sold seperately?

You talking 360? If so, you can buy the starter package for $60 or so that gives you 13 months of Live, headset, some marketplace points, an XBOX Live arcade title, and a mail in rebate of $20 off your next game purchase.

Thanks for the info. I am a bit out of touch with the gaming systems. The demos I have seen of 07 on 360 are amazing. I didn't realize that about PS3. Plus I am not to sure on the blueray thing. I wont have a nice dlp till next year (wife getting lasik this year) but in your opinion, will the game look good on a stadard sony dig. set. If so i might upgrade to 360 for my birthday and just say to hell with it. As far as online, sony sucks in my opinion. With the cost of the ps3 being 499 for the 20 gb and 599 for the 60 gb, do you see it as a waste of money because you can get a used 360 for around 260 dollars.

I think getting the lower model of the 360 or the PS3 is a rip off. Outpost has the 360, after you use a 10% off coupon widely available, at around $360 shipped.

PS3 $499 is a smaller hard drive, no HDMI port (not a huge deal), and no wifi built in for wireless gaming out of the box. Plus, I believe the more expensive one also has a few memory card readers for SD, CF, etc.

Will games look better? Sure. Is it the same jump as from PS1 to PS2? Not really just in graphics alone. Does an HD set look better than SD when gaming? Absolutely, but again it's not like going up another generation of machines. Run a PC game at 640x480, then jack up the resolution to 1280x1024 and you'll see what kind of difference. Will you see "new" stuff? No. Will is look sharper and more clear? Sure.

Things to consider with the PS3. Launches are always fairly weak. 360 was pretty solid and PS3 will have a few solid games (CoD3 for sure). First year in a consoles life is always a bit frustrating because games are slow to come out. This will be no different here. Most games will be on both. Gran Turismo is still years away, unless you simply want GT4 with a little better resolution.

If someone is only getting one, I'd recommend a wait and see approach. Neither machine is a rip off, but for those without an HD set, I would say the PS3 is forcing to pay up front for something you wont be using any time soon. Stand alone BluRay players are $1,000 right now, so the PS3 at $600 is a steal relatively speaking. However, it should be noted that no game console to date has excelled at displaying DVDs which means the PS3 player may very well be the bottom end of BluRay players and not quite as good as stand alone units.

Can't say I'd recommend going either way since everyone likes different stuff. I plan to have a PS3 on launch day so it's not like I'm trying to hate it or bring it down. One bonus PS3 buyers will have is that developers have had a couple year already on "next-gen" hardware and are starting to figure things out. The PS3 first year games will probably be better than we've seen thus far on 360 just because it will most likely be 360 code ported over. I'm just saying that you wont see a stripped down Madden 07 like the 06 on 360. It will have more features because it's just the new 360 game ported to the PS3.

OK so now I am totally messed up on which to perchase. You sell them both very well. I can only afford one. I realize that the PS3 might launch nov 13th so I think I will wait around and see and druel over the 360 ncaa version for this year and enjoy my ps2 version (offline becasue of all the hastle to get online without wifi and such). If I am still in the market for a gaming machine after the ps3 comes out, I will upgrade. But like I said. I only play sports games and God of War. And seeing as how July is my fav month for the best sports game (IMO) on the market, it may be next year for my upgrade.....or when I walk it to get my copy tues and mess around with the 360 version and make an impulse buy.

Check ebay for XBOX 1 Live deals on the cheap. Also, if you get live for XBOX and get a 360 later, the subscription carries over.
