I was at that game and the Vols offense was incredible169 days......
After a loss to Alabama, and right before Notre Dame, UT hosted Memphis State for homecoming in 1991. Andy Kelly passed for 319 yrds and 1 TD (rushed for 2), while the backs ran for 284 yrds. Aaron Hayden was the star of the game, rushing for 169 yards and 3 TDs in the Vols 52-24 victory.

Mike LaSorsa was a former Korean War vet who walked on at Tennessee in 1956. He redshirted in ‘57, but started at left end from ‘58-‘60. He was one of three players in UT history to go from walk-on to team captain. In 1960, LaSorsa returned a fumble 40 yrds for a TD vs Alabama, and caught his one career TD reception in ‘58 vs #15 Vanderbilt. After his career, LaSorsa came down from the stands carrying an umbrella, joining in the fray, during a brawl in the ‘62 game vs Ole Miss. LaSorsa finished his career with 16 receptions for 162 yards and was named 3rd Team All-SEC in 1960.

In 1997, the Vols played Auburn in the SECCG. Things started well, as Manning hit Peerless Price on a 40 yrd TD, but Auburn reeled off 20 straight points, and took a 20-10 halftime lead. In the second half, The Vols outscored the Tigers 20-9 to win the SEC Championship 30-29. Peerless Price caught 8 passes for 161 yards and 1 TD.

Him and Too Tall.....pride of JacksonThe halftime score didn't reflect just how badly Tennessee was playing. I remember reading somewhere (Sports Illustrated?) that Al Wilson took over the locker room at half and chewed out everybody for not giving their best. He even got in Manning's face. Tennessee in the second half was a completely different team.
I met Aldra Kauwa Wilson at an event some years later and beeleeyoume, if he tells you to do something, you do it.
