Countdown to first pitch

I've seen numerous acts from every genre you can think of over the years, but unfortunately never got to see the purple one. Definitely a sad hole in my concert portfolio.

I got to see him in small venues in the Bay Area also, that was cool. Had backstage passes for the Purple Rain tour but didn't get to meet him. Had front row seats for another tour.

As I reflect, some of the most entertaining shows I've been to were artists whose music I wasn't really drawn to.

Rod Stewart puts on a helluva show..... Blackeyed Peas would be another.

Oh man, I saw Rod I guess in the late 80s, I recently came across the ticket stub. It was an incredible show.

My brother worked security for him back in the 1980's when he did a show in Knoxville. Prince invited several of them back stage after the show for a private jam session. He said it was even more entertaining than the actual show..

One of the dumber things I did, actually didn't do, was in 2001. I had a few random days off that coincided with the Vols in Omaha. Prince was also opening up Paisley Park for the weekend and jamming all weekend. I couldn't decide which one I wanted to do and ended up doing neither. Between watching the Miami game and talking to people that were in Minneapolis that weekend, I have kicked myself a few times.

I saw Tina Turner in 1985 with a "friend with benefits." The concert was amazing.....and the "friend" wasn't bad either. ;)

Oh you should have gone backstage. My brother still tells stories about that experience. Here's my favorite.... Prince is talking about Jimmy Hendricks and what an incredible talent he was. Starts talking about him playing a guitar upside down and left handed and how nobody but Jimmy could do something like that. With that, he flips his guitar around and starts playing Excuse Me While I Kiss the Sky left handed. LOL

Oh, I went backstage but didn’t have the opportunity to meet him, bad timing. My girlfriend at the time could have, but was too nervous.

We couldn’t both go backstage at the same time because one of us had to hang at the seats with her little sister. Her Dad would not let the little sister go backstage.

16 days!

16 - earned runs allowed by Cam last season on his way to an impressive 2.82 ERA and .a .94 WHIP. Also his number.

Good to see activity picking up here. Means baseball is right around the corner.

My father got season tickets for Christmas this year in a surprise gift from my mother. Needless to say I am very excited and hoping to make it back to Knoxville more often this season to catch some games with him.

That's great.

Regardless of age, ya can't spend too many days at the ballpark with dad.
