Could you guys ever see Fulmer getting an offer to replace Les Miles at LSU

You can't be serious.

I've been reading some of your posts and I have decided you are just stirring the pot because no one with an iota of sense could ever be delusional enough to believe some of the stuff coming from your keyboard.

I don't think that's very likely. LSU fans would never stand for another coach who left his previous school on bad terms. They would rather have a young guy like Muschamp or Smart who has a bright future. Fulmer doesn't have enough "heat" to be considered for this job.

Over the years I've attempted to be a "honorary" or "adopted" Gopher fan since I live here, had two daughters in school there (one of which was also was at UT in the Pride) and frequently help out teaching Supply Chain at the Carlson School of Business.

This would be a good assignment for Phil as:
1. We already have another SEC guy here - Tubby for B-Ball.
2. There are very low expectations for success of the football program
3. He follows a terrible coach in Brewster
4. There are great new stadium & facilities.

The downside for him though is he'll have to divest himself of his part ownership of the Fulmer Cup. That dog won't hunt up here in the cool cool north. Thus, convicted felons will not need to apply

BTW - it's not that cold during football season. It's 56 here today - the temperature plunges in January to only -40.

Don't forget...LSU did hire Gerry DiNardo after his stellar tenure at Vandy to run their program before Saban got there. I wouldn't think that this is too far fetched.

same AD has been around that long? Can't believe one guy went from DiNardo to Saban to Miles unless he's schizo

Any discussion about Fulmer as HFC, on a UT board, provokes a comparison to where UT is now versus where we would have been.

We've lost ground, not based on firing CPF, but based on hiring decisions and Hamilton is the guy who made those decisions. The wisdom in firing CPF was contingent upon hiring a better replacement.

Until MH is gone, UT has little hope to recover.

Whether LSU fires Miles and hires a replacement depends on their AD, who clearly is doing a superior job to ours. Will he hire Fulmer? If so, it'd be a better choice than our AD made.

Does that help you to see the obvious relationship between hiring/firing SEC and former UT HFC's and the AD's role and why it is relevant?

First BPV and I seem to be on the same wavelength since the season started.

And now I find you have written a post which I easily could have written myself. I'm impressed.

Here goes the good ole history vs. living in the now argument. None since it has mattered. By the way, it started being of some significance (to me) in 1994.

Predictable comment, but you failed to answer the question.

There's nothing new in that post wrt my views, so try not to claim you've had an influence.

Some here know I supported Fulmer too long, but that post was not about supporting CPF. Saying he's better than CDD does not mean he shouldn't have been fired.

Hamilton just can't hire and retain a competent coach. He needs to go.

Fulmer @ LSU. What a concept.

They might be that foolish - but I doubt it.

Saban would probably throw in a million to help pay his salary, though !

Fulmer would actually be a steal for LSU. He would probably better their recruiting (already good) immediately.

I will say it might be a replay of the 1990s though with Saban in the Spurrier role. Having said that, the talent gap would always be consistently closer - with an actual potential to out-recruit Saban, so it might not be a full reprisal. You could actually see LSU dominating the conference for five years or so until Phil retired.

I actually find that a scary scenario for UT actually. Plus, I don't want to see it personally. I definitely don't want Phil coaching another SEC team, and certainly not one where he could out-recruit TN without leaving the state.

Oh shut up

Actually, given where we are now as a football team, shouldn't y'all be STHU? The "minority" (sic) looks smarter with every game played. Y'all have shown your calibre and full measure, and you've come up wanting.

Fulmer would be VERY successful at LSU. It's a no-brainer backed up by 17 years of hard data. And, he would not have to work nearly as hard as he did for UT.

Remind yourself of the title of the thread (which I didn't start).

Fulmer is now officially not interested in Minnesota, obviously he is in talks with Jerry Jones about the Cowboys.

Could Fulmer be sucessful at LSU? I'd say yes, mildly successful.

Would he get an offer to coach at LSU? Good Lord, no.
