We would need all our defensive starters ready to go. I think the problem with a rematch is Stockton is likely only going to improve. Now I expect Joey to improve as well. A rematch in a neutral field? Who knows? I would lean probably not.

I wouldn't think so. I would think Kirby and his DC would make better adjustments the 2nd go-round. CJH is good for an opening script and then all bets are off.

Georgia is the best team in the country IMO. We are good and it would be a heck of a ball game, but we wouldn't have Neyland magic behind us on a neutral site.

Tennessee is getting closer and closer to Georgia but there is some small areas were the talent gaps still impact things. Kirby Smart and Josh Heupel are both great coaches and that is why it has been hard for us to outcoach/out-scheme Kirby. People talk a lot about Kirby and Georgia's talent, but Kirby and his staff are excellent at finding flaws in teams and scheming. Our coaching staff is good at it as well.

The key game will be Oklahoma to get a rematch. Nobody is going to run the tables. Bama is the wildcard. They've looked like a completely different team than the one that lost to FSU, but Wisconsin wasn't very good. We can lose the Bama game on the road as long as we take care of business against everyone else, but that Oklahoma game needs to be circled. They look really tough this year. If we drop the Oklahoma game, then we have to beat both Florida and Bama on the road. Florida looks horrible, but winning in Gainesville hasn't been something that we our accustomed to doing, even in years where we had the better team.

Absolutely yes. It took a 4th down dime throw +2 pt conversion + a missed FG the first time. And I have concerns about UGA’s OL depth. The RT backups were getting rotated aggressively and they were not ready for prime time.

I expect UGA will be less surprised by UT’s adapted offensive scheme in a rematch, and will probably have its DBs more prepared to handle the deep ball. It could therefore play better on defense. Maybe.

This wasn’t a game of huge breaks or freak plays. Y’all had a WR fall down, leading to an INT, and had a kicker miss a makeable but long-ish FG. We had two CBs panic and fail horribly in deep ball situations, leading to 2 long TDs. Maybe those plays don’t replicate, but credit has to go to the players who made the plays. It was much more a game of players making things happen (missed FG excepted), then huge mistakes determining the outcome.

Redmond is not a true freshman anymore.. He just got baptized in a game against some of the best coaches in CFB. Anybody would know , ga was gonna exploit him with their 5* receivers. This kid is a hexx of an athlete, and he learned from a few mistakes, ga was hoping he would make. I bet he won't bite again on some of those veteran moves their receivers laid on him. Fans, sometimes don't see some of the involvement he was in on in shutting down crucial run plays by ga. I played cornerback in high school. At 160lb you don't even try to man handle a 230lb rb . That's the safety and linebackers job. Cornerbacks job, is rb never gets outside. If he does you chew his ankles up until the safetys and lbs show up to clean him up. Could have been what happened to Gibson.

Depends on getting back a few extra guys. Right there at the end, some of our guys were gassed. And Georgia was rotating in more guys than we were. I am disappointed because the Vols should have won that one. But that's football.

We could beat em and we could beat em in Athens. We didn't take the game when it was there and Georgia doesn't make that mistake twice. If we got another shot at em, we could absolutely find ourself in the same spot and could win.

Yes we can and we will in Atlanta. I'm telling yall we are a DAMN GOOD team. Joey is playing great and he's still learning the playbook. He's only going to improve as the season goes along. The SEC is Dog Eat Dog this season and I believe we can make Atlanta at 10-2.

Mark my words we will be in Atlanta.

I think its possible but would be very difficult. I think the successes we had on offense would likely not be there in a second game due to Kirby knowing how to plan. Wed have to be 100% healthy on defense and play a lot better on that side of the ball. If we could do that wed have a chance.

Yes, of course the Vols could win in a rematch against GA. If/when this rematch takes place, whether in the SEC Championship Game or the Playoffs, it’s difficult to know what each team will look like compared to the first meeting.

Many things could and likely will change for both teams by the time a rematch would take place. For starters, just playing a full season of football in the SEC is such a task that it’s likely that at least one of our teams just has terrible luck on the injury front which could have a huge impact on the game.

Which of our teams will improve the most by season’s end? Which team’s inexperienced players will make the biggest strides? Which team will come into a rematch with the best game plan against the other? What team will make the proper in game adjustments in a rematch? So many things could change for both teams by season’s end of regulation that it’s dang near impossible to know what we will be thinking of each team by the SEC Championship Game.

I say with all sincerity that TN could absolutely win in a rematch. No, you won’t have the advantage of playing in Neyland, thank goodness for us!!!🤣, but hell, just look at what GA had to do just to tie the game up at the end of regulation! That TD pass to Humphreys was anything but a gimme on 4th down no less, and still had to make the 2 point conversion just to tie the game. On top of that, you guys quickly got into FG range and we survived regulation by sheer luck!

I write that previous paragraph not at all to rub it in, but just to emphasize how close this game was! This game could have very easily went either way. Both of our teams played their hearts out and didn’t let up for even one second. We fortunately had Lady Luck on our side in the end.

So in my mind, unequivocally absolutely without a doubt yes you could win if/when we meet again this season. Like I said, who knows what our teams will look like come December, but at the moment, I think it would be one HELL of a game!!!

Yes, have to run the ball and not wiff on so many tackles. UGAly got too many second and third chances of missed tackles. Fewer penalties, more pressure. Definitely need to run the ball more efficiently.
