I know we are on the upward swing, but I just do not think we are to that point yet. We are going to be exciting and fun to watch and I can't wait to see this team on the field. Just do not forget what usually wins in the SEC and that is a great defense and ball/time contol runnning games with a few well timed passing games.

We will go as far as the passing game and the defense takes us. How far is that? It's hard to say--but we have a chance to be potent on offense if Bray and the receivers are consistent and the OL plays well. Indeed, if we can't be potent on offense this year then we may have coaching issues--as the talent and experience are there, except at RB, where we are decidedly mediocre at best. And the defense should be significantly better, I would think. We MUST win at least two of bama, florida, georgia and sc, and I'd like to think we can win three. We have a chance to be pretty good--better than many people expect--but it's all about execution and limiting your f--kups, of which we have had many in recent years.

Now, that does say a lot about how bad we were but it also says a lot about how good we could be. As mentioned before, every team has question marks.

First let me say I always expect us to win every game. That said, I am tired of hearing that if CDD does not win 9 or 10 games this year than he should be fired. He inherited a mess when he got here. He had to try and salvage the Kiffin recruiting class (which was full of thugs), deal with no depth at any position, deal with the fact that he was the third coach in three years, has only had two recruiting classes that are his, had to basically get a new coaching staff and, on top of all that, has to listen to all the fans yelling for him to get fired if he doesn't pull off a miricale. We are lucky he has stayed as long as he has. There is no quick fix when you are in a situation like this. He is doing a great job considering the circumstances. When he first came in all the experts were saying it would take 4 years for him to turn things around. I guess patience is not a virtue here. 8 wins this year would be an improvement. More would be better but, let's be realistic. I support CDD and a hope that the ball bounces our way this year. It sure hasn't the last few years. You guys need to grow up and get some real expectations. Yes, I know I am going to be hated for telling it like it is but somebody has to tell you. Let's try living in the real world instead of the fantasy world you are living in now. There was not a single coach in the world who could have turned the mess we had around any quicker. Give it a rest and give the coach a real chance to turn it around.

Agree. The last thing we need is another coaching change! Ala floundered the better part of 10 yrs with their swinging door of Mikes! We dont need that! Time to stabilize & I think Dooley has done that...now he has to WIN!!

I think we have enough talent to win 9 games, and we should do that. To bad we dont have Georgia's schedule who doesn't play Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, or Mississippi State.

Thank goodness there's somebody else out there that has a real grasp of the situation. We all want to be the best that we can be. Dooley has done well with the cards he's been dealt. In Major's sixth year he was 6-5. Look at Saban's years at Michigan St. Hart should give Dooley an extention and get the monkey off his back. He's had to fight the SEC, the fans, and the AD. Despite all that we look like a pretty good team now.

First of all, fyp

Secondly, Dooley has had his fair share of derp moments. It's time for him to show that he didn't get this job because of his last name. I like a lot of things about Dooley, his interviews are always fun to watch, but if the team doesn't produce this year the Dooley era should come to an end. That being said, I think 8 wins keeps him here. My prediction? I'm sure most here don't give a lick but I honestly think we start off 4-0 and end up either at 9-3 or 10-2. As others have said, the east is up for grabs.

Look guys lets be realistic. On the SEC coaches first 3 teams- o and d, a total of 66 players were picked. of the top 66 ( according to coaches) we have 5 (five). Five out of 66 does not equal 1 or 2 in the East. Sad, but true. Unless u think Dooley can out-coach the other guys ( not likely) . I hope that we can win at least 8 games, 10 would be nice, but thats why they play the games , to echo Howard Cosell. I dont like Dooley- but I dont want to start over once again.

IMO

7 is failure (heads might roll)
8 is a push (Gets another season to prove himself)
9 is success (Good job and let keep improving)

I'm hoping and praying for 10.

This..except USCjr.could be a possible loss if they are as good as advertised.:ermm:
