Could the Arnett situation hurt recruiting?

You bash posters on message boards. They have opinions. exactly the same as every other Vol Fan. I admit there is no doubt I believe Dooley has failed miserably and like Josh Ward says on the radio. You can be a jerk in situations if you are winning as Saban is. When you are a perennial loser for honors sake you must concede to at least show honor and integrity.

The real reason why you wont let this go...

Well what if father and son are trying to make a bond before daddy passes away. Lots of people that don't have relationships try to make it right later in life when death stares them in the face. Only God and DeAnthony know what DA's motives are in his heart. Dooley can never know that. So I am just saying my opionion is he should let the kid go.

You need to just stop.. You have an agenda.. You don't like Dooley.. It's obvious.. The jury is still deliberating as far as I'm concerned..

As I said before I don't necessarily disagree with your base opinion. It's all the fluff tacked on to it that gets tiresome..

This was a question not an arguement point.

Really? You have been going from one BS reason to another for a while now...looks like an argument. Of course, I am using the broader sense of the word. Sorry if I confused you.

show me where I have bashed anyone. I respect all (most posters) and their view. Pushing an agenda in every post like u seem to be doing is total BS. U have made a decision based on your dislike for our coach, not the facts surrounding this story. he can go to CMU, close to pops and play football, if he refuses that, its on him and dad was never an issue.

Looks like Arnett is trying to go to Notre Dame as well. That is no where near his home town, and puts him almost 4 hours away from his dad.

More evidence that Arnett's release situation has nothing at all to do with his father's health.

It's looking more and more like he's using his father's health as an excuse to leave. Like others have said, if that was really the case, CMU may be the best option for him. Unfortunately, everyone won't see that part. They will just see how UT is preventing him from transferring to be closer to home. I wish he could have stayed and I wish him well, but come on. Be honest about why you're really leaving.

I also ignore all Dooley apologists and you are one of his biggest. Keep apologizing while he takes our football further in the tank. Never seen a UT team quit totally like the Kentucky game, remind me of your excuse for him?????

Must not have watched us in a couple chick fil a bowls

Seems like some of the MSU fans seem to see right through his B.S.

...kinda refreshing.

IMO it will affect recruiting for the rest of this recruiting year. Now I don't know much but it is probably very minimal. Recruiting is so dirty in collegiate athletics. Coaches say anything and everything to try and get an edge against another school. For example, Bobby Bowden kept his cancer diagnosis quiet while he was coaching so other schools couldn't use it against FSU. I know it's a different situation compared to the DA issue. But the cancer was a treatable form. So I'm sure there are some coaches trying to use this against us. IMHO

I do think DA handled this situation poorly. He should have set up a meeting with CDD and been completely honest. I think CDD should stick to his guns on this. It's not like he can't play for UM or MSU later on or he can pay his own way. Him being under contract shouldn't even matter. They mean nothing in sports anymore. Coaches break their contracts all the time, but when a player does it it's the worst thing ever. But I do think CDD is doing the right thing because of the way DA handled it. If it really was completely about his father being sick I think CDD would release him outright (outside of the SEC).

Let him go to any school outside of SEC. He carries too much negativity. Kick him out of the VFL club and just move on. Who cares about Mich or Mich jr or ND. I don't!
Dooley needs to do the right thing and release him. He has much bigger issues to deal with like closing strong in this years recruiting class and hiring 3 strong coaches by tomorrow's presser. Total waste of time on Arnett. If he doesn't want us, I don't want him around our program any longer.
