Could one big win in the next two games spark a big run to close out the season? I know none of us want to hear the we are close BS, but it is obviously true just by looking at the scores. We have obviously had the opportunities to win every game we have played in which leads me to believe we have the opportunity to win the rest. At this point, it is just a matter of confidence in my opinion. Which leads me to the question.
If this team somehow finds a way to beat a Georgia or Alabama could it give them the confidence and ability to close out a game to propel us into winning out? I know it is a long shot, and I am not expecting it nor would I be surprised - I also wouldn't be surprised if we lost 4 or 5 more. I don't know what to expect, but I could see something like that happening as in we are just one of these big wins away from righting the ship.

Sorry if already discussed. I have stayed away for the most part the last two weeks.

The team doesn't lack the ability to win. The coaches lack the ability to even try to win. I hope like hell I'm never in a situation where I'm as scared of something as butch is the lead. It would be terrifying.

I've never seen a coach botch two games the way Butch did the OK and Florida game. I think everyone is trying to underplay how genuinely stupid it was.

Sure, but don't see it happening...wouldn't mind being wrong, though. Should be many recruits at the game and this game will change some minds about considering the Vols, one way or the other. :sick:

It's unfortunate that Butch has the same product, put the Vols back on the map.

Obviously you didn't watch our game against Florida last year. After Oklahoma I think it's safe to say half of the posters here were going "I see a pattern". After Florida every fan should be questioning Butch's coaching ability.

Winning one of the next two games would be HUGE...

Getting blown out the next two games is even HUGER...

Possibly, but do you see this teams defense stoping many teams (Vols last in SEC) especially Georgia or Alabama.....that's what I thought, but Next year was always the year, no?

Nobody had a problem coming into the fall, everyone was behind Butch. We have been in everygame and the argument could be made that we should be undefeated. We are gonna trip somebody up along the way and the confidence young kids will gain will lead to getting the job done. Its not like we have been blown out of any game like in the past. There is no new coach coming to knoxville because the administration will not pay a Saban, so our only hope is to hang in there a couple more years.

We have regressed since the Iowa game. Probably due to injuries and off the field issues.

By year 3 there is a clear pattern, Butch can only win when he has a noticeable talent advantage. Expect us to be 2-5, beat UK, then win out to go 7-5. Everyone will claim we've made progress from last year but it will simply reinforce the obvious, unless we outclass the other team we won't win. On that note we will never outclass Bama, UF, or UGA to win on a consistent basis

Yes Butch it could help, but remember you must win the game prior to celebrating, ok?

Want to spark the season? Do like Dooley did with Sims & Bray. Play Dobbs & Dormady each game. Once Dormady starts to spark the offense, he will get more playing time and Dobbs will get less until Dormady becomes the starter at the Vandy game.

There is the spark that we need!!!

This team has shown its capable of winning but the coaches haven't kept the foot on the gas peddle. Which has led to the frustration with the fan base.

If and that's a big if we can play loose and beat Georgia then I think we could actually turn this season around and have a chance at Bama.

I also think if we lose in the same fashion that we have lost our other 3 games then all hell will break loose in the locker room.

I really believe that one good win could get Butch and the players some confidence, and get us headed in the right direction.
