Could Lincoln Pick Worse Times To Choke?

Kicker must get the ball UP on extra points. A line drive extra point is a cardinal sin and now that will be his Legacy for Life as a Vol. Also, Bray acting like a child and making gestures to the other team says something about him. Dooley needs to bench him if this ever happens again. Good that Justin Worley will be coming on board as he will certainly challenge Bray for playing time and from what I've heard is a great kid!! :matrix:

Really? Bray acting like a child? I guess you dont remember Matt Simms shooting his fingers like guns everytime he threw a TD against teams like UAB and UT-Martin. So he was a child too? Also, Worley does not have the arm strength to compete with Bray next year. Not many true freshman can play the way Bray did. Back to the topic, I am so glad that Lincoln is done at UT, we can get no worse at kicker. He has had many field goals blocked. Here is looking toward the future GO VOLS!!!!!!!

Your quote about Bray acting like a child shows how little you know about competition and how much it hurts when you have given your all for a cause. I am excited about seeing a QB with passion and emotion.
Tyler Bray is an example of what is good about this program.

Watch ESPN they keep showing it over and over again.

He's young (Bray)and it was dumb to do it, but he let his emotions get the best of him. He needs to be running laps or something else so he never does it again. I would think all players should know better by now.

I will plus I still have it on the DVR. I had to go into the office today but I'll check it out. I turned it off last night when UNC kicked the FG to win. I was so frustrated I just didn't want to see anymore plus knew I was having to get up early today.

I still think we got screwed on the clock but want to view the ending of regulation again to confirm what I 'think' the refs screw up on.

It's like Dooley said, "the ref should have stepped over the ball to allow TN to run their players in when unc was running their field goal team on". The clock was running during this time, the game should have ended right there and the spike should have NEVER happened.

Sadly there is nothing that can or will be done about it and unc gets the W

I know emotions can get heated and people are quick to pull out their fingers to point and start laying blame. I've watched the Vols fold in many a bowl game since the 1960's and I've also watched them victorious on many occasions.

I've coached soccer for 10 years and whenever we lost, there would always be some who wanted to blame the loss on the goalie (keeper). My philosophy was that if the other 10 players had been doing their job, the ball wouldn't have been close enough to the goal for the opponent to score anyway.

Did Lincoln miss and has Lincoln missed in critical times before? Yes ..... but I wouldn't go as far as blaming a loss on an individual ... it's a team sport. The breaks did not go in the Vols favor many times last night but that's life.

Time to congratulate the team for overcoming adversity during the season and making it to the bowl game and for us to look forward with the possibilities for this young Vol squad in the future.

Lincoln barely got the other two extra points over the crossbar. Were none of the coaches watching? I knew something bad was going to happen. You just come to expect it with Lincoln. The kid at Maryville High School is twice the kicker Lincoln will ever be. CDD should be offering him a scholarship today! I do hope Lincoln is a better navy seal than he is kicker, for his sake.

Great thoughts and I can appreciate your point of view, but pats should be automatic.

It is the holder that deternines the the rise of the kick by the angle that he places it on the ground before the kick. In other words, if he places the ball vertically the kick will be a line drive. It may not bre necessarily Daniel's fault.

Thanks coach...or is this Daniels dad???

Come on. I'm not going to bang on the guy. I'm sure he feels horrible. But if you've seen Lincoln kick at all, you've noticed that he hits it way too low almost every single time.

PATS definitely need to be automatic and I really expect it in NFL .... that's what they are paid for. At the college level, I'll give them somewhat of a break, even though it sometimes hurts.

All the way out their in Bellingham, Wash, ..... pretty country, I was stationed at Tacoma in the early 80's.:salute:

Yeah, the kicks are more on Lincoln than the holder.

Still, the coaches know he's a basketcase that kicks line drives, I put more of it on them to know what they have and get someone else. Lincoln sucks; we know he sucks, and he knows he sucks, but the coaches keep bringing his silly ass on the field.

Why is special teams such a nightmare for this team? I miss Jeff Hall.

I haven't read all the posts, so I don't know if this comparison has been made, but it struck me last night who Lincoln really is.

RAY FINKLE

Never mind. I just saw that someone else said this on a previous post. Still, I hope he ends up cross-dressing and arrested for trying to kidnap Smokey.

I honestly believe Palardy, with some work this offseason, will become an excellent kicker and hopefully missed PAT's and low kicks will not be an issue...:crossfingers:
