Could JT Shrout play in the last four games?

Shouts for Shrout: Will Tennessee give the freshman quarterback a look in 2018?
The article says that Tennessee fans are either pushing for it, or they would love to see it.
Wouldn't surprise me if he gets snaps in if Guarantano stays healthy, playing in mop up or maybe even a series or two the next 4 games. Only way Chryst plays the rest of the year is if JG gets injured. Coaches would like to get Shout a game speed look but in no way are interested in benching JG. Article also says a small number of fans.

Would you really want a QB's first college experience be behind this sketchy offense? Couldn't that really warp his development? Is JG fully to blame for his errors of judgement, or, does an unreliable OL have something to do with how he processes the play? I'd say, unless the OL shows they can defend the rush at least 80% of the time, don't put the pink meat on the field. (well, unless he can scamper and throw better on the run).

I think we see Chryst more than Shrout as the year winds down.

JG will continue to be our starter, as long as he stays healthy enough, and the dominant goal remains to win games, but CJP is going to look for opportunities to get Chryst some time to help make his case for the NFL. It's one of the ways a coach takes care of the players who sign on with his program when they have pro potential.

JT can wait. He may get a series during a bowl game, if we make one. Other than that, we'll see him in 2019.

Until you have had your very being jarred like some of the hits JG has suffered in his campaign here, you have no idea the pain this kid has suffered.

Late vs Charlotte? Why not?

Last 3 games? It would be an extremely good sign if he's snapping at all.

He needs a few snaps, he will be battling for #2 vs Mauer next Fall.

So you think Guarantano will automatically be the starter next year?

Chryst does not have pro potential, at least not on any draft boards.

I do unless Stout puts on 25 lbs and has an incredible spring. No way the freshman plays much next year. I think JG will be our clear cut starter the next 2 seasons and plays well in both.
I have had the luxury of viewing practice up close and personal on the practice field on more than one occasion. Shrout is by far our most talented QB and its not that close. He will get on the field early and often in 2019.

I think he will get A FA contract at least. He has the classic over the top NFL delivery on his passes. Shaw thinks he has NFL potential. If he does have NFL potential powers that be will give him a shot. If not he will move on. Some QB's just do better in the NFL than college not saying he will but it does happen. Also he was top pro style QB coming out in 2013 or 14 and was 12 & 2 at Stanford not the SEC but a P5 conference.

THIS IS JG's offense, for 2 years now it's JG's offense.

He'd better gain some weight, JG will be pushing 230+ next year and will have earned the spot, especially if we can make and win a bowl game. If we finish 5-7 or 4-8 then Stout may play but I think we'll win 3 of 4, win the bowl game, finish 7-6 and return all 11 starters from an improving offense. Just can't see turning that over to a new qb.
