Why is that? He doesn't have a very good arm in the relative sense. His main tool as a QB was his pure athleticism. CJH's O doesn't generally depend on the QB run.

I don't know who will be the QB. But I am pretty sure of the key factor. The guy who wins the job will make consistently good decisions then deliver the ball on time and target. Making great pre-snap reads will be critical. After the snap it becomes more "normal". The speed is mostly between snaps.

He’s too good of a fit at WR in JH’s scheme. If he can break tackles he may get a look at RB, but if he has any hands at all, WR will be his landing spot. JH uses those deep threat speedsters a ton.

In fall practice last season Pruitt stated they would put in a QB package for him when they got inside the 20 for a run/pass option, but it never happened. He never got much playing time at all. Seems he has multiple ways he can help the offense. I'm sure this staff will be smart enough to find ways to utilize him.

Michael Vick was a playmaker with serious speed... He did alright for Virginia Tech at QB.

While QB's running the ball were not a large part of the UCF offensive plan, they did get sacked 22 times. But, as often as they throw the ball, that's not that bad, I think. So mobility and/or pocket presence. poise and awareness are a huge factor. Just finished watching Katy vs Cedar Hill, and I was not impressed, at all.

Just because you're fast doesn't mean you can make people miss like Vick and Lamar. They also could throw the ball fairly well.
