Could it be

A little of what I saw concerning turnovers, bad passing down low with the defender having the angle to deflect or intercept the bounce, ball bouncing right at the feet of whomever was the intended receiver of the pass, telegraphing the location the pass was intended to go.

We do have to get out and run more often the problem is most of our guys are not good at finishing inside for various reasons. We need to get 14-15 points in the fast break per game. We only average 7.8, which is weird given how many turnovers or bad shots we force.

We also need to embrace the midrange. Josiah clearly still takes them, but we need to get more looks for Phillips, Key, and even Santi. Santi has made some contested midrange jumpers in each of the last two games. Mashack has done well from there as well this year. Around 50% + from midrange is still better than 20-30% from 3 (as in effective field goal %).

Zeigler really needs to get himself sorted out. He can't shoot 0-10 again.

Would like to see Mashach and Philips get more involved in the offense.

Mashach looks like the second coming of Yves.

With all these threads discussing our issue of not being able to score points. People blaming head coach, assistant coach this and that. Maybe just maybe could it be that our players just cant shoot very good? We get wide open looks and we just cant knock down what should be a very makeable shot. The other issue is that the players should recognize when the are not shooting very well. At one point we were like 1 for 17 from the 3 point line and we just kept firing them up there. When they should have took some midrange shots or tried to get the ball to the rim. If it was not for a few made midrange shots early in the 2nd half we would have taken a L.

I agree w you that we may not have consistent shooters. I think they are tired as the rotation has dwindled to 6-7 players and Barnes demands intense defense. A player can’t give 200% doing both, impossible.

Secondly, I still think Santi’s shoulder is still not 100% while JJJ has knee discomfort.
ZZ- never a consistent shooter.

Third, I agree w mid range shots. However, Barnes had publicly said that he told his players he would bench them if they pass on open looks. It’s the offense he wants to run so they have to continue to shoot per their coach.

Good grief Barnes doesnt tell his guys not to push it and beat the defense down the floor. Some of you keyboard junkies will look for any string to hold on to just to blame Barnes. When he retires and we slip into the abyss again you will miss the 25 win seasons.
No we will not. It's not a crap job and only one out of three coaches can win here.
It's about hiring the right guy.

That’s where you’re Barnes has said multiple times that guys need to take that shot if it’s open, he doesn’t want them padding on good looks.

I stand to be corrected, but for whatever reason, I have seen this happen on many occasisons; passing up open shots and have to settle for a contested shot late in the shot clock.

We don't push the ball up the court often enough when we have chances, especially when we have a lead. I don't know the reason why
