Could it be Chaney?

Absolutely, just saying I personally would be happy with any of the three and could see a smooth transition and lesser learning curve/implementation of a new offense with Martin.

Cheney is my personal favorite choice for the job.

Chaney would be number one for me as well, he liked being here and wanted to stay on staff when Jones was hired. I think he’d fit in fine with the other coaches we have.

As others have said- Chaney would be a great mentor for Pruitt and an outstanding coordinator for what we need right now. I hope Pruitt is at his house right now!!!!
He would be a great hire. Remember what he did with Crompton? Peterman? Let’s not forget this guy coached OL in the league. We would be absolutely lucky to have him.

Matthews says it is 95% done
Might have already been posted. I listened to DM this morning and for the first time that I've heard him say it, he said that he believes the person we had targeted and planned to hire went somewhere else. He did not drop a name. Apparently, this is an open search.

True. People have said they blame Chaney for the loss to TX. But Chaney didnt allow Ellhinger to go all Tebow on the defense.
That loss to me was much larger than the OC. May be the worst effort at that level I’ve seen in years. Arrogance is an ugly cancer that will destroy one personally and professionally and I think that game captured it perfectly. UGA should be embarrassed and was humiliated on the national scene. Truly pathetic!!!!

I think he spent the entirety of this past season struggling to find a way to use Georgia's offensive weapons.

They have some guys who could've actually made bubble screens and end-arounds work in the SEC...

Well, here you go, make of it what you will. Kind of fun thinking....it could be a possibility?!

Reading the comments on this Ga board and seen a real interesting name thrown out. Would love to see the VOLS take a chance on this guy but most of our fans would freak out over him for lack of experience. That name is George Quarles, he is a heck of a coach.

I’m glad Lovie is still on the plane...maybe when he lands he will agree to be our OC.
After years in the plane I’m sure he’d take it

Wherever Chaney has been, the offense has not been the problem. As far as UGA goes, they were FLAT, on both sides of the ball. UGA's d was never a great defense, this past season. Mediocre, at best. They struggled stopping the LSU run game. No surprise they couldn't contain Texas. Although, I will admit the offense looked very tight, and stagnant. In general, Chaney's offenses have been very efficient and very effective, over the years. He doesn't have nearly as much to work with, here, at the moment. But, he is a very effective recruiter, as well. So, I am on board, if we can land him.
