Im a little bored/anxious for football time, and didnt find a thread like this in the past. What are your thoughts on EB winning a heisman? Do you think he could at UT, and if so would he have to be put in some kind of offensive role, like how CW at UM was?

He'd have to start returning kicks, and be one of the all time greats at it.

and he was running against a qb from tn, what was his name, itll come to me later.

He'd have to break Meachem's single season receiving record and lead the nation in tackles and INTs.

not gonna happen. he could win the thorpe, or win it two years in a row. which is impressive

It doesn't matter what he does. He doesn't play for USC, Notre Dame, OSU, or Michigan. Because he plays for UT it would take the clouds parting and a personal blessing from the almighty for him to even be considered.

If Peyton couldn't get it his senior year I don't see how Berry possibly could.

As true as this is, I believe that if Oregon QB Dixon from a couple of years ago does not get injured, that he probably wins the Heisman.

What about just getting the trip to New York? Not, "it will happen", but could any of you see him making it to the finalist? Lets say at the end of this year he has broken the all time INT return yards, has 7 picks on the year, contibutes to the O in a few big plays, and has 2 KO/PR Td's.

Good point. I am not saying guys from other schools can't win the heisman, it just seems easier if you play at one of these schools.

It's a possibility I guess. But it is extremely difficult for primarily defensive guys to even make the trip.

sorry but no. haven't you heard? they've already announced mccoy, bradford, and tebow as the finalists. in fact, tebow already actually won it, they're just waiting on the awards ceremony to announce it. this is solid info, as i received it from volball333 and he has great inside sources.

Those stats combined with 11 wins, would get him invited. The team has to do real well for him to have any chance.IMO

Berry may deserve the Heisman, but won't win. The winner of the Heisman will be whoever ESPN wants to win it.

The award should be the ESPN player of the Year as decided by ESPN.....

I wasn't aware anyone still thought this was a legitimate award or was worth discussing
