Could Clay Travis actually veto another hire

Call it what you want but people are listening to him, he was one of the first to back the fans and once that happened he got the power, don't think for a second that he's not smart enough or arrogant enough to try and pull something off urging the fans on.

If you don't believe it, check how many people on twitter and facebook are behind him

He has the platform and fan support to tey anything

Lol, you're exactly the type of lemming that he craves because you eat up every word coming out of his mouth. He caused yesterday's outrage about as much as he caused the sun to rise.

For the third time, the outrage was happening before he said a word. Do you honestly think people were just sitting around crying until Clay gave the order? Good lord.

Again you're not reading what I posted, I said Currie and Haslam were not scared of the other boosters, if they were they wouldn't have tried to hire Schiano.

Now if you want to say Clay Travis didn't start the fan outrage, that's fine, but now fans are listening to him, and he's just arrogant enough to try something.

That’s what happened. They called their bluff. Do you seriously think Haslam gives two craps about what the fans think? Seriously? An offensive rock painting and 75 upset fans protesting?

Money talks- like funding a $300 million dollar renovation on Neyland. They are using the fan outrage as a shield in the national media and it almost worked

Even though there were multiple tweettfeom Bruce Feldman that indicated that Currie and Schiano got worried about fan uproar in knoxville, not boosters, fans.

I dont give credit to Travis for anything that happened yesterday. However he can be hilarious. He also has been calling for Butch to be fired since early last year. He seems to want Tennessee to hire a big time coach and succeed.

I think that if the majority of the people on this site feel one way or the other we can make shiz happen(or not happen). I was on all of yesterday as it was transpiring ( as many of you were as well) and I believe it all started on Volnation.com. We peaked at over 16,000 users. Majority of people that took part in the backlash were just feeding off what was started and shared from here. Its pretty awesome actually. Its fair to say the people that frequent VolNation are the biggest, most devoted UT fans there are. Therefor the dominant belief that came from this site was just picked up and run with by the masses of basic passive fans that make up all the numbers but aren't generally that knowledgeable about current UT events.

Kind of rambling but my point is I think that we as a group hold far more sway than Clay Travis. If everyone on here at any given time were to share one persuasive post about an issue then you get what happened yesterday. The reporters just jump on the bandwagon.

Oh he's right sometimes, but his fans are crazy annoying; especially when they can't even realize he simply is pandering to them because he knows it means dollar bills.

He’s an idiot. The boosters are the ones who vetoed Schiano. They threatened to pull funding if Haslam/Currie signed him.

This, 1000x this. Clay Travis had Nothing to do with the pressure except tweeting out that he was going to be hired so actually Dan Wolken should get more credit than Clay. The ONLY thing that changed and put pressure was the phone calls made by the big wigs to the Chancellor and President, period. Wasn’t twitter, wasn’t WES, and sure as heck wasn’t Clay. It was the lifeline, the donors/boosters.

Definitely I was just trying to say that I don't think the vast majority of fans had any idea who Schiano was. I truly believe that the people on this site worked each other up and the idea that Schiano was the devil began here. It then quickly hit social media and the rest is history.

No he’s not as big and powerful as he think so he is and if he thinks the way he talks if helping his case he’s wrong - Entertaining but wrong. Anyone in the decision making process will turn if off after the 10th f bomb
