He’s an idiot. The boosters are the ones who vetoed Schiano. They threatened to pull funding if Haslam/Currie signed him.

He's being Clay at this point. There was legitimate concern outside the field with Schiano. If its just a hire that Clay doesn't like He'll get Blown the F out.

Clay getting traction yesterday and taking credit for everything is going to create a monster. Well an even bigger monster than it currently is.

Well he did get about 50 fans to show up and protest outside of Neyland. He as well as the other media made it seem like the entire fanbase was burning down Ktown so anything is possible.

I call BS, they literally had the guy all but signed, neither Currie or Haslam appears to be scared of any other booster, if they were they wouldn't have tried this stunt

I listen to him from time to time. Sometimes, he's provocative in a well-thought out way. Sometimes, he's provocative in a cray-cray way.

Dude mentioned Jason Witten for head coach today. Pure insanity.

At this point, I expect Tee Martin to be head coach because even if some people don't like it, what the hell are they going to say. They're not going to rip the national championship winning QB who's coming home.

If you are scared and looking to shut people up and avoid criticism (at this point I assume their pants are yellow), Tee is the way to go.

Exactly. Boosters made sure the Schiano thing got leaked, got the fans into an uproar, and gave them cover to torpedo this thing from the get-go.

They couldn't have done it without the fans, fans couldn't have done it without the boosters. There might be a war amongst the fans and college football nation, but the real war is amongst the boosters.

For the third time, the outrage was happening before he said a word. Do you honestly think people were just sitting around crying until Clay gave the order? Good lord.

Clay Travis cares about one thing - Clay Travis. Anyone who forgets that about him is making a terrible mistake.

The hell he isn't; the outrage was happening before he said a damn word. He jumped out as the tide was rising and is taking credit.

Call it what you want but people are listening to him, he was one of the first to back the fans and once that happened he got the power, don't think for a second that he's not smart enough or arrogant enough to try and pull something off urging the fans on.

If you don't believe it, check how many people on twitter and facebook are behind him

He has the platform and fan support to tey anything

I disagree. It will pretty much just divide the fanbase more. Sure there will be a side that welcomes him with open arms and think he will be awesome simply because he's a VFL; but the other half will think the guy only got the job because of the sh** show and because he's Tee Martin, not because he was ready.

And it will take him a good while to fix all this, and we've already seen this fanbase has already been waiting a while.

He thinks Bobby Petrino is the answer

I’ve never seen a team so inept with a heisman winner as his has been this year and the last 3 games last year

Plus he signs like one 4 star a year and just made a horrible defensive coordinator hire to replace Grantham

I actually like Clay Travis. He is one of the few reporters who tells it like it is and doesn’t care what people think about him. Even if you don’t agree with him, there is still a level of respect for his honesty. I think he did Tennessee fans a service yesterday by doing what he did.

That’s what happened. They called their bluff. Do you seriously think Haslam gives two craps about what the fans think? Seriously? An offensive rock painting and 75 upset fans protesting?

Money talks- like funding a $300 million dollar renovation on Neyland. They are using the fan outrage as a shield in the national media and it almost worked
