Could Bryson Eason be our next Henry To'oto'o??

The kid has been a rock on the best defense in the state for 4yrs. Whitehaven has put quite a few defenders in the SEC during his time there, and he was always the field general. This suggests he has a very high football IQ. Eason is an absolute nightmare to run the ball against. He is big, fast, & plays with a bull like mean streak. I believe he will be the best player from this class becuase of his worth ethic, passion for the game, and physical talent. I wouldnt be surprised if he had a Henry T type impact that makes the Daniel B transition a smooth one.

D is in good hands. Pruitt knows what type player he wants on D. Like how he gets guys like Crouch playing all LB positions. Probably same for Eason and other signees at LB/DE. Our depth on D is really good at most all positions, except maybe DE. OL in good shape. If we get two deep high level performance from our Offense skill positions, we're back in the mix for SEC East.

With his size at his age, and his speed for his size he could add about 10 or 15 lbs of muscle and not lose anything... With that being said i see them moving him to DE and be an absolute nightmare on the line of scrimmage. I could be wrong but i dont see LB being his home.

I think CJP gets him to drop 15 lbs and he plays at around 255-250 at ILB. He is a big boy but his intangibles scream Mike Linebacker

Just want him to be a solid contributor. To'o to'o is GOING to be a good one, but I would have thought you might choose one of our former consensus AA linebackers, not a freshman who struggled at times

With young players and there size you never know how there bodies will change when they our involved with such a great Strength and conditioning program and given all the Foods and supplements for growth. He may remake his body trimming weight however he may add weight and be a 300 Dend. I like players with the versatility to move positions while all the while maintaining speed and change of direction. Johnny and Phil built there most successful Teams this way

He could play the flex linebacker, switching inside and outside depending on run vs pass, pair him with crouch who plays the outside primarily. Run plays, Eason inside, Crouch covering the flank/TE. Pass plays, Eason rushing as a 4th DL with Crouch covering the dump pass boundary. Frees up TT to read and react. I'm getting stoked imagining the results.

I believe we have 6 Senior DE going into next season.....

247-shows Bryson eason's stats for 2016, 2017 and 2019, no 2018. Was he hurt? Did he miss an entire season? Or, is 247 just missing an entire year of his play?

I may be considerably older than you. To'o to'o played as freshman because of our thin ranks. He wouldn't have started as a freshman on any of our 80s, 90s or early 2000s squads. I believe he had a really good season, but he's got to keep improving to get into the ranks of best ever LBs at UT

That's a very general statement, sir. Painted with a very wide brush.

Henry To'oto'o as a true freshman really held that defense together until Bituli was healthy.

That freshman was California Defensive POY at a De La Salle High School.
The most recognized high school football program in America.

He started ALL 12 GAMES as a true freshman. Didn't lose anytime. And Forced out a former 4 star LB who was basically a starter himself and was a Jr ( Ignot)
He's 6'3 240 lbs and runs 4.6 with great instincts and is smart and physical.

Al Wilson 96-98
Is the ONLY one il give you that would start over him

Henry T was breaking down Pruitts defense in the film room before he even signed...

K Simon and Jerrod Mayo by their Junior years were All American types. But your talking about over a period of maybe 25 years that perhaps the best Freshman LB we've had wouldn't start on any of those teams???

I think so. But he'll tone up imo and get even faster. And stronger! Unbelievable we got him and Joseph.

Remember AJ Johnson was almost 255 his freshman season.

By his senior year he was 6'3 245 and could move a lot faster than he ever had.

Keith Delong comes to mind. Of course Jack Reynolds, Steve Kiner, Jackie Walker, Jamie Rotella, Mike Lucci and Paul Naumoff all had to sit as freshman because freshman couldn't play until 1972. All were consensus AAs. That being said, I agree with you about To'o To'o's ability to handle the system. My main point was that at one time, we were considered Linebacker U. by everyone in the country

He definitely could have started on several teams in the 80’s. Good enough to see time in any era. Things were different then, player were not as ready to play as they are now and playing freshman was rare.
