Anybody own them? What would be your review on them? Are they worth the $180?

And I do alot of bass fishing, and I know their supposed to be good for fishing.:hi:

They are very popular with coastal fisherman. I wear Oakley's but have thought about ordering a pair the Costa polarized glasses just for sight fishing. They get great reviews on-line.

I know several people that have Costas and really like them. I already had a pair of Oakley Half Jackets (interchangeable lenses) so when Oakley came out with the black/amber "fishing" lens I got a set and like them so much they are my default lenses for all uses other than the absolute brightest conditions. (like sunny snow skiing)

Still, the only thing I've ever heard negative about Costas are some models are apparently a little heavy. (but even that is subjective to the user)

hmm weird.

Costa is pretty well known to have the lightest sunglasses out there.

I have a pair of Harpoon 580's tortoise and I really like them. Also have a pair of 400's and there good but I can tell a difference from the 400's to the 580's.

Def. worth the money.

Have a pair of the 580s (glass lens) and they are spectacular. On a clear day they are very noticeably better than other good glasses I've had including Oakley, Rayban Serengeti and Bolle.

I prefer gray lens (no color distortion) and they are harder to find (I typically order them).

That said, I've lost a pair and it pissed me off mightily due to the replacement cost.

On the good side though they have a great warranty.

I highly recommend them.

These are the ones I have -

Thanks guys. I'm probably going to get the Brine with green 400s.

I'm sure the wt depends on the model and as stated what might seem heavy to one person might not be for another.

At some point I can see myself awfully tempted by some Frigates with the glass 580 green mirrors.

580's are def the way to go if you are able to fork out the money for them. Some of the models may be heavy but there can't be that many models that are. First time I ever tried on a pair I was like this is the lightest pair of sunglasses I've ever worn.

The ones I lost were Calibitos or something like that and they were pretty heavy. Of course they were thick tortoise with glass lenses.

The Seven Miles I have now are super lightweight and do come with the new plastic 580s although I opted for glass.

The Ballasts look almost weightless but are only available (to the the best of my knowledge) as 400's.

Which lens option (tint) did you go with? (VF14 also) From what their site describes (and what I already have in other sgs) I'm leaning green mirror for a possible future purchase.

I went gray no mirror. I don't like any changing of the colors you see when wearing sunglasses - have always gone for gray.

Amber and Brown are my least favorites. Have some Revo's with blue mirror that really amp the greens.

If it's sunny blue sky out, it feels like I'm looking at a great plasma TV with the grays on. All the colors are right but they pop and glare is non-existent.

I've got some gray Serengetis (or at least mostly gray, it's their 555 lens) that have little or no color shift that are my "standard" glasses. I do a lot of active stuff though and that's when the Oakley Half Jackets come in. The black/amber lens does have a bit of shift but I don't personally find it obtrusive and in really flat light actually like the heightened contrast. For really low light (trout fishing mostly) I've got some Smith Optic yellows that throw color off pretty bad but really do help seeing through water when the others are just too dark.

I guess I need to go look through some of Costas greens to see what I think.
