I don't want to see anyone get hurt, but this doesn't hurt the defense. Sapp was much more effective. Bituli and Sapp give the defense a chance to make plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. They make our DLine better as they can quickly plug the gaps.

Was it the blindside hit that got him hurt? Can't remember if he came back in after that one

I have never seen a team more snake bitten by injuries. Its a rolling meme at this point. If we have a star player or emerging star this seems to happen. Cam, Jennings, the list goes on.

Guys. Everyone has injuries. We act like we are abnormal. South Carolina just lost their best player for the year. They happen. War of attrition. Move on.

No. Wrong. We have more injuries than normal 2 years in a row now.

What would you call it? If it's serious enough he's out for the season I'm pretty sure it's not a toughness issue.

I wouldn't call it anything. Don't know how he meant it. Joke? Serious? Not enough info and definitely not worth getting offended over.

Best of luck CM. Get well soon..

I'm not offended. Funny how you used your powers of discernment for my post and not his. But cool

Depth is the giant difference. We don't have it.

Really, I feel we do. You're wigging out over McDowell and he shouldn't even be playing now. Shows our depth if our backups are better than starters.

These injuries are the reason you build depth. Had a perfect opportunity against Indy State to get many more guys some reps, but for some reason did not. Now, here is an even better situation this weekend to empty the sidelines and see what these players can do. Hell, worst case scenario is that a kid comes out and shows better skills/abilities as some of the guys that have been playing. I see folks bellyaching all the time on here about the same linebackers that fail to do this or that. It is the definition of insanity to keep doing the same things and expect a different outcome. These coaches need to finally "see what they've got!"

Sorry. But UT HAS had higher than average injuries since Jones' first year. It probably still relates to the STUPID decision to bring Lawson. This injury is probably less preventable than the non-contact knee injuries.
