Swafford wasn't the reason that play resulted in a TD. Did you not see Randolph's horrible angle? I don't know if he thought Oregon made him faster or what. That was worse than watching ND's attack angles vs Bama in January.
Okay.
Coleman played it right by crashing down outside and forcing Patton inside.
Randolph recognized the play and was taking an angle to catch Patton as I'm guessing he was likely assuming Swafford would stick outside which would also force Patton inside.
Swafford did not get outside and allowed Patton to get the sideline.
This affected Randolph's angle.
Randolph had to re-adjust but doesn't have the speed to get him.
Randolph took a bad angle, yes, and that gave Florida a 52-yard TD.
However, the Florida coaches drew that play likely expecting to get ~20-25 yards which is what they would have gotten had Randolph gotten him.
If Randolph had taken an angle for the sideline instead of interior, he would have been out of position if Sapp/Johnson didn't get Patton.
It started with Swafford. I get you're sticking up for the little guy, but he was the one Florida attacked and exploited.
