Cordarelle Patterson

These threads are amusing. We have ONE proven commodity coming back at WR next year and that is Da'rick. Dallas was decent, Z Rogers wasn't, Hunter is coming back from ACL, CP is a JUCO transfer who hasn't played against SEC competition and is getting here late. The other three are incoming freshmen. We have no idea what we're gonna get. But I will warn ya'll, the last JUCO receiver that was this hyped was Demetrius Byrd at LSU. The results were mixed at best.

Cordarrelle Patterson played against SEC competition in South Carolina. He played against Stephon Gilmore and dominated Devonte Holloman in the 2008 state championship game. He's good to go dude.

As good as this kid is what do you think his impact will be this season? He has to be 3 times better than Z. Rogers, therefore does he take his job? I'm hoping this happens, not to erase Zach but to give us the absolute best WR corp in the nation with Hunter, Da'Rick, and CP. Does he start alongside these guys this year since he will already be a junior?

Yes. One of the best WR corps in nation.

It's all on the D, barring injuries on the O.

LOL. Bray + Hunter + Rogers + Patterson = BOOOOM goes the scoreboard.

The end.

off topic a little but didn't staff move dallas to defense (DB). If correct sounds like making space for CP.

Fingers crossed he's not another 5 star Kenny Oneal BUST!
Good to see you are easily amused...I really hope you have side splitting laughter when CP torches Alabama for 3 TD's...:eek:lol:

I will be very happy if that happens. But I can clearly see that some people on here have lost sight that we have serious questions at receiver and that Brays 4 SEC wins are against Candy (twice) Ole Miss and Kentucky. And then when we lose they want to burn things and fire DD. Our QB and receivers haven't proven anything except for Darick and Rivera.

Those are all good points, Von, and I'm sure you're right that a few didn't qualify academically. But like you, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

CDD seems to have a good eye for JC Talent, as I recall we were in on another JC Wr that went to Cinn. I think his name was Kimbrell Tompkins that looked very good last year.

At worst, CP will be a really good distraction with his size and speed.

This. I think if he's not ready yet, Chaney should still work him into the offense just to take even more pressure off Hunter and Rogers.

Maybe so, but KT was a Kiffin JUCO commit who backed out when Kiffi left or had further academic issues:. Then chose UC. At least thats how i remember it.

Like I said, SEC experience, more starts, etc. Don't get me wrong I would rather see CP all day long. Just saying don't be surprised if you see him starting when the NC State game kicks off.

Not going to happen. CP is going to run wild on State, and on everyone else, too. And by all reports, he's on schedule to get into school in July.

If we run any thing close to a balanced offense (run/pass), I just hope we have enough passes to keep three star receivers happy.

CP will be huge and Pig will be another Wes Welker type and Croom will be a solid 5th man to give breathers without missing a beat...We will own the entire airspace of the SEC!!...and then there's Bowles...CRAP:loco:

Don't forget about about Carter. Kid looked allsome at the Spring Game.

If CP doesn't replace ZR, this board will go crazy.

No one should be "handed" a starting slot without earning it. An athlete thinking he is due playing time simply by showing up is how guys like Brandon Warren end up catching an attitude & finding themselves off the squad.

Athletically, CP has the tools to be on the field. Fall camp will determine if he has the desire to really be special or... If he is just another guy who feels "entitled" to to privileges he has yet to earn.

I hope Coach Dooley has the stones to make CP prove it, one way or the other, during camp.

Got to listen to a former teammate of mine who played against him in Kansas rave about how good Hutchinson was and said that Cordarelle was the best player he had ever seen. Really got my hopes up that he will come in and help make our offense elite.

His impact will not be very much in the beginning of the season. He will be eased in to the offense.
They will begin with him having 3 or 4 offensive plays that he knows. He will play only when those plays are called.
the next game, he will be given 6 or 7 plays that he can play.
By the end of the season, he will know the entire play book and will be hitting his stride. By then, the season will be winding down.
The best case scenerio is that on the few plays that he knows, he will catch a pass and break it for a long gain or a touchdown.
