I do not know why you think new AD does not have his lips stuck to the butt of the boosters. He had the best of intentions in the beginning.
The incompetent administration that led to his hire was more the problem. The power structure still is the problem. I do think white is the first real ad in the last couple of decades that isn’t beholden to any particular booster or power faction and perhaps can unite everyone behind the program.
I do think Fulmer made decisions once in the AD that were more about keeping him in power and less about the best thing for the program. The extension of Pruitt was purely political imho and had nothing to do with merit.
Did you ask him WTF he was thinking with Beldar Cornbread?I was just standing in line at Starbucks in the Murphy NC Casino and Fulmer walked up right behind me. I shook his hand and got his autograph. Super nice dude. Anyways, back to the tables, have a great day everyone.View attachment 431121
Idk if White does or not but I do know Heupel was his hire. Pruitt was Anderson’s hire, Fulmer wanted Mel Tucker; Schiano was Haslam’s hire, Currie tried to grab Leach after that.I do not know why you think new AD does not have his lips stuck to the butt of the boosters.
Every AD in the country is dependent upon booster donations for their jobs. With NIL, probably more now than ever.
Our big dollar boosters still make the decisions. To think people just blindly give huge amounts of money with no strings attached is ridiculous.
VolNation would be delighted if you could share your inside information that backs up any of the broad list of things you say you know.Idk if White does or not but I do know Heupel was his hire. Schiano was hand picked by haslam when Mullen the original target didn’t work out. As far as educating the masses on the inner workings of UT athletics believe me you’re not missing anything. Feel free to believe or disbelieve anything you want though.VolNation would be delighted if you could share your inside information that backs up any of the broad list of things you say you know.
I remain pretty sure Haslam did not hire Schiano for HC at UT. He was never hired by anyone.
Please kind sir , educate us in the poor masses of the inner workings of the rarified air you breath at the height of UT's doner and booster organization.
I shall continue to believe hand picked does not mean hired.Schiano was hand picked by haslam when Mullen the original target didn’t work out. Haslam for many years in effect had final say on hiring and firing. Before Kiffin was hired he was flown in to play golf with Haslam. Fulmer asked the family to intercede on his behalf as well when he was on the chopping block. You can find some of this in some obscure media sources.I shall continue to believe hand picked does not mean hired.
I shall continue to believe the AD is not the decision maker on the hiring of a HC, at best he is given a list of acceptable candidates from which to choose.
Soon.... I picked Gruden, that did not work out any better than the others.
