I don't want to sweat when I'm playing video games. Thanks for trying though XBOX.

Exactly. I owned a wii for about 6 months. During that time, I played alone about 30 minutes. I played with friends a few times, but when I was alone, the motion control was just a gimmick.

This is going to be an evolutionary step in gaming... can't wait.

Basically, biometrics have finally found their way to gaming. The end result to this project will basically drop the gaming right into the action - like being a part of your favorite movie.

Yeah, but sometimes I want to just sit there and move my thumbs and fingers. I don't want to have to dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge my way through a halo level or have to throw, hurdle, and juke my way through madden.

I know that some people will like this in party atmospheres with people that don't like regular video games, but it just doesn't seem like it will connect with people that already play a ps3 or 360. JMO

this reminds me of when I first owned a NES. I had that track and field game...there was no way I was going to run in one spot on that pad. I would always just beat that pad with my hands as fast as I could. Screw that movement crap

This is going much further than the Wii has gone. This technology reads your facial expressions and incorporates it into the game. So the way you move, look, and feel at any giving moment is the way your character will move, look, and feel in the game.

This is the start of some ground breaking stuff.

Incredible technology, but I think it's going to be a long time before they get it right. I'm not necessarily talking about the actual mechanics, but using it properly in games as the experience it should be. We'll see a few years of crap and gimmicky software with a couple standouts before someone with get it 'right.' Luckily, Nintendo started it, MS and Sony are going to pump steroids into it. N will continue to explore options that will be gobbled up by the others if it's any good as well.

I think we'll have some crazy, unbelievable stuff in 4 or 5 years. I also think these devices are really pointing to a longer console cycle.

Oh I agree the technology is awesome. I'm just saying that sometimes, I don't want to move to play video games. I do think it would help though if microsoft would throw up a video of puppies and kittens with some zen music when I start screaming at my TV while playing ncaa. That would be awesome.

We all knew this was going to happen with microsoft; they really want to get into that casual gamer money market. They spent the last months/year advertising buying the 360 w/ kung-fu panda and lego indy tied in for crying out loud...

I dunno. It looks interesting but hard to implement regularly. I'm curious as to how they will actually implement this, whether they will try regularly or just w/ a few titles.

So you want your 360 to show relax-o-vision?

I honestly wonder myself what the future of gaming is. Growing up in the early 80s and having an Oddessey, Atari 2600, 7800, and then onto NES by the end of the 80s I was in heaven with these great games. Now, here we are, around 23 years after the original NES made its debut. We have these great realistic games with awesome graphics right now and I wonder how much more can they do?

I guess they can continue to make AI smarter and smarter and improve multiplayer games. I could see a future of being able to play something like Grand Theft Auto in a full city full of real people playing in the virtual world. Instead of having 16 people in a room you could literally have thousands. Other than expanded multiplayer games and better AI though I don't know how much further they can actually go. I'm sure there will still be minor tweaks each year to make the graphics look more and more polished but its not huge leaps anymore. Just go back 15 years and look at a Madden game compared to now - really big jump in quality. In another 15 years how could we possibly jump that much more?

I have a feeling that we haven't seen anything yet.

In fact, I could argue that the overall quality of video games has gone down in respect to gameplay, creativity, and economy. I could go with a lot more depth in most games.

If and when they use this in ncaa or madden, my team speed will drastically drop to speed of snail and I will not be able to break runs over ten yards:)
