I heard that hamilton put a multimillion buyout in this contract, to make up for the kiffin fiasco.

I don't think you have to worry about him going to GA, one he is always been a man that followed his own path, I think you have to worry about LSU more than GA, but my opinion is that if this guy has success he will stay at TN.

+1 no way DD would go to GA-y and hang in Dad's shadow.

The fact that there are threads discussing a current coach leaving for another school prior to holding his first practice says a lot about the state of Tennessee football, and the fanbase that supports it.
We act like any wounded person after they've been burned by a cheap whore

Is there a clause in CDD contract that prevents him from going to UGA, I thought I might of heard that somewhere??

If there is, I doubt it would hold up in court. It would be unduly restrictive. There may be a damages clause for going to UGA, but the contract can't actually stop him from going.

If a coach would rather be somewhere else than Knoxville I would hope we let him go. We don't any coach at Tennessee who doesn't want to be there so I hope contracts don't prevent any coach fomr leaving.

I have no problem with a buyout in the event they want to leave but let them leave if that is what they want to do...

I agree. Why would we want the guy here if he wants to be somewhere else? It's just a coach.

The other guy left, and many were ready to start lighting lynch mob torches off the torchbearer's flame. A week later we have a guy that we're all ga-ga for. It's no big deal. If he leaves, we get another guy.

That said, I also agree with others who wrote that Dooley doesn't seem like the type to fly. Seems like a stand-up guy.

If derek dooley goes to uga, it will have to be after michael adams gets fired as president. Vince Dooley hates adams after he got fired from the AD job a few years ago.

CDD isn't going anywhere. He wants to carve out his own lot in life. That is how his parents raised him to be. I'm positive that he is very proud of his dad and that is why he is at UT. Because he wants it for his children also and that is to achieve great things. Think of what i am saying here. What's best? the Dooley family have ten kids who all grow up to be uga coaches and are good at it or ten kids that go to ten different colleges and take them to the top of their league. NOW THAT IS A LEGACY TO BE PROUD OF FOR A LIFETIME!!!!:):):)

UT needs to keep paying Dooley top flight cash, and he'll stay at UT. Georgia can't match the money UT can put on the table.
