There is an active campaign on the left to paint Republicans as anti birth control and this crap has got to stop. Conservatives can't let this narrative to go unchallenged because that's exactly what will happen given the complicit media. Dems are seeing their hold on abortion eroding with the public given their extreme stance of no restrictions on elective abortion. So now they're pivoting to contraception. Here's what I'm talking about:

The Long Campaign to Turn Birth Control Into the New Abortion

That is a big lie. There is no push by Republicans to ban condoms and BC pills. We must fight back on this narrative and call out this lie. Dems have even resorted to writing up far left bills to "codify" contraception rights and putting crap in the bills that they know Republicans won't support. Then they can claim that conservatives want to ban BC pills just 'cause they won't vote for far left bills. It's all a ruse and we gotta fight back

They are chronic liars and steal a lot of votes by pushing their lies.

We should not be passive and let them do it. That's a weakness on the right. We let them get away with the narrative that Republicans wanted to suspend the rule of law 'cause a crowd stormed the Capitol on Jan 6th. That never should have been allowed to take root

I'm on the left and have never heard anyone suggest this. Seems like another right wing fake issue to get mad about.

January 6th riots and attempt to overturn the counting of the electoral ballots was a narrative?

LOL

Pence has overtly stated he was asked to send overturn the results and refused.

Trump pressed, threatened Pence to overturn election, panel hears | Reuters

Lauro says Trump ‘asked’ Pence to overturn election in ‘aspirational’ way | The Hill

Pence Says Trump Pushed Him ‘Essentially to Overturn the Election’ - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

Trump insists that Pence can decertify results | PBS NewsHour

Mike Pence says 'I did my duty' on Jan. 6. Many Iowans aren't swayed. (desmoinesregister.com)

You guys have a very warped sense of what or who is creating a "narrative."

IIRC George Stephanopolous asked Romney about this in a debate or interview and Romney had never suggested anything like this - it was kinda like push polling; plant a seed that this is actively being considered when it never was.

Lefties pushing a narrative. The silent majority isn't buying it. Progressivism will die a horrible death.

Guess y'all have never met conservative catholics...

Just because good WASPs in the south get preggo at 16 in Alabama and KY, doesn't mean there aren't plenty that oppose contraceptives on religious grounds. They just don't tend to be in the south around us.

But I'd agree if this was overgeneralized. It does happen, but is likely in the minority, as catholics are.

But that's what happens when people bring personal religion and mythology into the public sphere, doesn't tend to float with most (in secular societies) and just looks outdated and silly. Even the conservative protestants don't believe it and would rather end potential life before it can get started, at an earlier stage than abortion.

You must understand that MAGA are quite good at completely ignoring facts and reality in favor of conspiratorial nonsense and all the stupid, fact-free imaginings that they tend to spew.

catholics voted 50 / 50 Biden / Trump, so it still doesn’t support the narrative.

So what narrative are you referring to here and how are you defining it? We kinda gotta establish that first before we argue. If your narrative is that Trump tried to overturn the election, we don't have anything to argue about
