I wonder if this had anything to do with the half point drop by the fed?

probably more with the fact that the u.s. dollar and canadian dollar are now worth about the same. I traveled to Canada for business in 99 and the canadian dollar was worth 2/3 the u.s. dollar then.

Back to school. People spend more in the summer. It will take a little longer to see what this really means. I'm sure the holidays will heat up as usual.
I wonder how the strike will impact the economy.
