I wouldn't get the Arcade model. You are going to need a hard drive eventually. If you plan on purchasing Arcade games and/or Downloadable Content, the 256 MB of internal memory just isn't going to cut it. Get the Elite.

I suppose the "used 20 GB hard drive" idea isn't bad.

I'll definitely a HD...no way i can live with only 256MB...i don't even know why they cut the crap and replace the Arcade (no HD) with one that has a 40-60GB drive...it'd make more sense.

Just make sure you buy one with a Jasper chipset like the arcade has. I have an arcade, and bought a 60GB HD off ebay

Thats what i have now, with the 60 gig. I find the 60 is optimal, if you play several games, you can keep them all on the HD and play without the drive spinning (the sound gets annoying once you're used to not hearing it).

I wish they would lower their prices on the hard drives. It's absolutely ridiculous the prices they are charging. I'm still working off of a 20 GB hard drive. It's not too bad yet but eventually I'm sure it'll be a complete pain.

yeah, I always install the games I am currently playing alot onto the hard drive. I still have plenty of room for other stuff

Get a wii. Best system out there. Over 15 billion gamers on wiibox live. only 200 a month for fantastic service, which includes a Korean masseuse with full release and 13 pizza pockets per month.
