Any one else notice the Limbaugh's, Hannity's and Levin's of the world who are slamming McCain and yet say they are holding out for his VP choice to know whether or not they will vote for him.

I mean really, who cares about the VP?

How many people voted for Gore and Cheney?

The odds are probably around even that McCain could croak over in the next 5 years. So there is legitimate reason to care who he picks.

Ok, so you hate McCain..................

You are banking on that he will die during term to get the person who you really want into office.

Nice!

I think I may give up politics.

I think it's safe to say that although Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, et al have some considerable disagreements with McCain, they all agree that McCain is a far preferable choice given the democrat alternatives.

I'm waiting to see who his VP choice will be as well. I am hoping for a Michael Steele or maybe a Mitt Romney. My fear is that McCain will pick a RINO like Lindsay Graham or Olympia Snowe. If that's the case, I won't go to the polls at all.

Back in 1992 I foolishly voted for Clinton but that decision only happened after Al Gore was his VP. (Yes, I was naive at the time and was voting only because I recognized Gore's name and that he was from TN.)

Bob Dole chose Jack Kemp. While Kemp wasn't a bad choice, they both decided to run a clean campaign and proceeded to get their clocks cleaned by a Clinton/Gore team who played dirty. In retrospect, Dole should have picked someone like Colin Powell.

When W picked Cheney there was all this blather about how Cheney added "gravitas" to the campaign.

So, the VP choice is important, or at least it has been important since 1992.

All we as repubs can do is hope McCain will pick a VP candidate with some conservative values......... I will not hold my breath.

My inherent laziness would preclude such an effort. It is merely his scientific spidey sense.

do you believe in man made global warming tn tradition?

In short...yes.

A bit longer version...

I believe that humans emit CO2 faster than it be re-adsorbed through natural processes. I believe that increasing CO2 concentrations lead to increasing greenhouse effect. I believe that an increasing greenhouse effect leads to increasing global average temperatures.

However, I believe that the amount of temperature change over time, the effects of that change, and what our response should be are fair matters of scientific and political debate.
