Congress Fully Funds Border Wall

If you look at it in perspective to the the workers inbthe picture. it's about 10 feet deep and 40 feet high. It certainly would impede all attempts and stop most.

The locks on your doors can't 100% stop an intruder, but if you want me to believe you leave your door open at night due to that reasoning, not buying it.

Yeah, right.

Just google "50 ft rope ladder" and see how easy defeating a 40 foot wall will be.

You're trying too hard. The one constant applause line at every Trump campaign stop in 2016 was "Who's gonna pay for the wall? MEXICO!" Per reports, Trump is now privately suggesting that the border wall be funded through the U.S. military budget. You really couldn't pick a worse campaign promise of his to gloat over.

Same idiotic response, to Trump’ quote. Like preschool level mentality to take it ‘literally’

Like Mexico’s gonna write a check to the US Treasury.
:eek:lol:

That’s not how it works, nor what he meant.

Illegal immigration is...against the law. How about enforcing the laws, rather than wasting taxpayer dollars on a stupid wall? Oh, and since when is all illegal immigration over open land on our southern border?

Whats wrong with prevention along with enforcement? Please explain how a wall is less effective than a fence?

Why aren't we building a wall all the way around the country? As to the fences in place, have you seen them? They aren't short, chain-linked, or picket. Border agents have actually said the fences are preferred, as you can easily monitor activity on the other side. This is a big, wasteful, "look at me" Trump stunt. That's all.

Hmmm

Eastern border: Atlantic Ocean
Western border: Pacific Ocean
Northern border: No mass illegal immigration from Canada
Southern border: drugs, guns, people are all being illegally smuggled/trafficked across the southern border

Was this a sincere question?

So, drugs, guns, and people can't be carried over water and onto our shores? We need walls there, too! What about terrorists coming across the Canadian border? If you're going to buy into this wall nonsense, you need to buy in all the way.

You're either ignorant, in denial or too committed to liberal ideology to admit the southern border wall is a good idea.

What is Canada's equivalent to MS-13?

How much fentanyl is being brought to US through Canada?

The US Coast Guard is exactly what its name says.

There is no denying we have a problem with the southern border. Democrat politicians only care about future generations of voters.

Your argument is nonsensical.

Not ignorant. Not liberal. Just using common sense. Our existing walls are tunneled under extensively. How are new walls going to prevent that? There are many who simply come in through checkpoints, by evading detection or paying off border patrol. How are new walls going to prevent that? The focus is on the wrong thing. As long as determined individuals have reasons to enter the country illegally, they will continue to do so. Doesn't matter how big and extensive the walls are.

We put locks on doors to keep "honest" people out. Some measures are better than others, but apparently not much keeps the most determined and competent criminal out - ask places like the Louvre. But what you are suggesting is that if it's not foolproof, then why bother with anything at all.

About a year ago I saw a video supposedly done by a news crew showing Mexican drug mules climbing the existing fence/wall like monkeys. They shimmied up the panels with gloves and tennis shoes with backpacks and then slid down and ran off when they saw they'd been detected.

We can build much better than that, but even that would have kept out the hordes of people walking across an open border as shown by national TV ... complete with Welcome Wagon handing out bottled water to kids who definitely had not walked across the desert to get there. They walked with water in hand to waiting buses to be taken to detention (obama welcome) centers and then were distributed across the country.

There's a huge difference between virtually welcoming illegal aliens and physically making the point that they have a country on one side of a border and we have ours on the other. While I agree with many about jailing employers of illegals as a deterrent, that has to extend to all types of aid. My guess is that organizations probably part of or sponsored by things like Catholic charities are up to their eyeballs in making it easy to get here and live.

Built the wall with confiscated drug money.. Probably would take 10 years to build the wall... 1.5 billion a year.. problem solvedm

A top Customs and Border Protection (CBP) official pushed back Friday on reports that frontline border agents do not support President Trump’s border wall, telling reporters that “walls work” and that “agents know it.”

Acting Deputy Commissioner Ronald Vitiello told reporters that agents have repeatedly said that a mix of technology, infrastructure and access to the border are what is necessary to keep the border secure. An important part of this would be effective barriers, and he said that such requests came from the field.

“The truth is that walls work and the data show it and agents know it,” he said.

I'm in favor of making it easier for border patrol and ICE to keep people like these out of our country.

Just stop.

Everyone on the planet knows he meant it literally.

If you need to sell it to yourself to feel better about it, that's fine - but keep it to yourself. No one here is buying what you're selling.

Really? Sheesh yet another one of your ignorant statements.

So you actually thought Trump meant it literally? I guess you thought Butch meant it literally when he said he has the best staff in America.

TDOT is building some big, beautiful retaining walls here in Chattanooga. America is paying for it, but Mexicans are DEFINITELY building it.
