Wayne Jackson.

In May Stax Records hosted and affair to celebrate the legacy of Otis Redding.

In October Wayne and his long time partner, Andrew Love, who were the original "Memphis Horns" were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame.

You couldn't hope to meet a nicer guy.

Wayne never forgets where he came from, he performed a Spring Concert with the West Memphis High School Band and the West Memphis All-Stars.

Before the show was over Wayne presented the band with their very own gold record of Wayne’s 1st hit, The Mar-Keys classic, “Last Night.”

Here is a partial list of work done by the Memphis Horns.

Some more on Wayne Jackson.

Very interesting if you are interested in that sort of thing, Wayne told me once that one of the things that helped him the most was when he was first getting started he worked for an old piano player in at a Memphis hotel bar for about five years and that every day he worked the old guy made him learn a brand new song, at least a new song to Wayne.
