After all the consternation about injuries, the award for most crucial injury goes to...
...GT's kicker. We had some walk-on engineering student out there for place kicks. Our scholly guy was out with an injury. I just found out.
Good game Vols.
Hopefully you can get your offense sorted properly before the UF and UGA games. Didn't look too hot in the first half, but you have a lot to build on in the 2nd half. I think you've got time to tune it up.
Don't be too hard on your D, I have a real sense that this year's GT offense is going to look a bit like 2014's.
Some notes from my notebook on the game:
GT didn't call the "triple option" play once. Everything we ran was double option, counter option, belly, zone dive, and some called QB keeper stuff. Not sure what that really means, but it's possible you guys spent a lot of time practicing against a play we just flat out decided not to run.
As I predicted in another thread middle of last week, it would come down to how many fumbles GT lost. Half UT's regular time points were off turnovers, and one of the turnovers was pretty much guaranteed GT points. Also as predicted, both offensive lines had a good day. I thought you'd have more rushing yards, but you clearly got enough, especially once we were as gassed as you were.
Pretty even game. Y'all deserved the win. That was a pretty gutsy stop there at the end.
Go beat Georgia.
