Ga Tech fans, visitors to the boards, thanks for coming by and spending a few weeks with us.

I for one will freely admit: I underestimated you guys. I will never do that again. Your team is tough and gritty and very, very impressive. Hat's off to you, truly.

Best of luck to you in every game you play for the rest of 2017. Hope you win the ACC!

Great game from both sides! Both teams deserved the win and yes, gutsy call by the coach to go for two. However, truth is, your coach took some cheap not so classy verbal shots at the SEC and Tennessee. Good football coach but not much class.

Thanks GT fan. Strange game that we should not have one. We may not be the most talented but we have some fight!

Your offense played with a lot of heart and kept fighting all game.

Don't have many other words than that right now. Not sure when I'll be able to stomach this loss.

I know I couldn't have had this much class. I'd be a mess if we had lost. Still a little mess after that defensive showing. Happy though but very concerned for D4H's season record prediction.

Your guys played their guts out. I underestimated what you all could do. I would say something encouraging, but I'm afraid we would have to play you all again this year. When you all play those hacks in Athens, kick their butts and don't stop. At least we can share that hate.

GT fans should not be ashamed of how their team played tonight. It may be a loss but it wasn't because you deserved it.

I'm glad we won but I never want to play you again.

So do us a favor and beat the bulldogs!

A well disciplined and coached team is GT. I think their team and fans and our team and fans learned something tonight about the 121 Vols and the SEC in general. Never flinch never skeered folks, knee clackers and hand wringers step aside let the men of action through. Good luck to the GT folks the rest of the season.

With My dual-allegiances I knew this game would be tough. My goodness. So brokenhearted for the good guys in gold. Played a hell of a game and did what they do best for all but 3 plays. Two turnovers and the 2 pt conversion were the difference. But the Volunteers had zero quit! And once Dormady to Callaway got going, what a combo! Tech is a LOT better than most think, that was a fast Tech team on offense and defense. I'll be rooting these 2 meet again for the final game back in Atlanta in January!

No offense meant here seriously, but I wouldn't get used to games like that from the QB. I think he'll be a good player, but we just have a god forsaken knack for letting that kind of thing happen here at Tennessee.

Congrats, though. You guys deserved the W far more than we did.

I hope John Currie never schedules a rematch.

Great game!

Your Tripple Option Offense is very annoying but it works. Lol

Both teams played their heart out the entire game. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

Good luck to you guys this season.

After all the consternation about injuries, the award for most crucial injury goes to...

...GT's kicker. We had some walk-on engineering student out there for place kicks. Our scholly guy was out with an injury. I just found out.

Good game Vols.

Hopefully you can get your offense sorted properly before the UF and UGA games. Didn't look too hot in the first half, but you have a lot to build on in the 2nd half. I think you've got time to tune it up.

Don't be too hard on your D, I have a real sense that this year's GT offense is going to look a bit like 2014's.

Some notes from my notebook on the game:

GT didn't call the "triple option" play once. Everything we ran was double option, counter option, belly, zone dive, and some called QB keeper stuff. Not sure what that really means, but it's possible you guys spent a lot of time practicing against a play we just flat out decided not to run.

As I predicted in another thread middle of last week, it would come down to how many fumbles GT lost. Half UT's regular time points were off turnovers, and one of the turnovers was pretty much guaranteed GT points. Also as predicted, both offensive lines had a good day. I thought you'd have more rushing yards, but you clearly got enough, especially once we were as gassed as you were.

Pretty even game. Y'all deserved the win. That was a pretty gutsy stop there at the end.

Go beat Georgia.

I hope to never see that offense again, gah! I think you might be on to something about us probably preparing completely wrong for y'all.

Your D should worry you a lot. We had under 20 minutes TOP, they shouldn't have been gassed and in the second half your D could stop us about as well as ours could stop your O.

Good luck with the rest of your season. I would like it if y'all vindicate how much we struggled against your O.

GT won the game in every way but the win column. We know how you guys feel. But you gotta know y'all are gonna have a great season. Very impressed with that offense. Good luck and beat the hell out of Gawja.

I hope Tech Nation isn't upset with Paul Johnson for going for two there at the end. I think it was a gutsy call and I had wished our coach had the stones to go for it in the first OT. It worked out for us tonight but I'd much rather have the coach with the guts to make that call.

We'd be livid if he didn't go for two. If he went for one, then Tennessee gets 8 on the next round of overtime. :(

Your D should worry you a lot.

As blatantly terrible as our D was, it was actually better than it usually is. Our defense has been terrible for a decade. You should probably be worried that you didn't score any more in the first half, truth be told.

Nice post. I guess you guys are Balboa?

Not a perfect fit, but like others have said, I'd be happy not to see that offense again. I'll take both quotes for us.

I went to Tennessee High in Bristol, about 4-5 years after we won back to back state championships running the veer (another option offense) back in the 70s - the 2nd year they won the championship game 52-0. It just so freakin' hard to stop a well-executed option. GT put on a clinic minus 2 turnovers. Hat's off.

A tip of the hat to your team and certainly your coach. Ya just gotta love a coach with the stones to go for the win. An extremely well coached team and i predict you to have a great year. BTW, kick the crap out of that other Georgia team.

I never want to play Georgia Tech again. Ever. Ever.

Your team is going to break some hearts this season in the ACC. Don't sweat it too much.

I'm just glad neither team came out of there too beat up.

GT and Tennessee put on a helluva show tonight. The only game on tv and they both showed out. Florida and Georgia can be salty all they want too. Because they know Tennessee is goin go kick the piss out of the Lizards and Georgia is going to get their tails kicked by GT again.

It is quite worrying. As fans all we can do is hope it was mostly just new starting QB jitters and happy hands from receivers. That or that the miscues get fixed quickly.
