Reasonably intelligent Bama and SEC fans were never worried about Lil Lane.

CLK (& CEO) = train wreck waiting to happen. CMK might help him survive for a while, but he will ultimately be fired from USC.

Derek Dooley = first class hire. :good!:

CDD gives UT's rivals much more to worry about than CLK ever could have.

I will agree witht he rest of the Bama fans in this thread.
None of us were worried about Kiffen. Congrats on your hire. I am from huntsville and a nice portion of my family who live across the state line are Vols fans. UT used to always be my second favorite in the SEC and I often would get as wound up watchign thier games as Bama's until the events of the last decade.

Your new hire changes all that for me and I wish him all the best until he meets Bama:). It is goign to be fun watching UA chase a second title next year and to root for UT to pull it out as underdogs vs. UF, Oregon, LSU and UGA.

Really not sure if I care what the opposing fans thought about our former coach. I know he had recruiting going in the right direction. He was a good coach. Not sure how Dooley is going to work out. We'll see.

Agreed. I don't care what people say about Kiffin. I have no doubt that towards the end of the Florida and Bama games, rival fans were at least a little concerned about UT in the future.

I'm telling you we weren't. I'm not saying that to save face either. I'll take a flat Saban team any day over a hyped Kiffin team. We were worried about that one game where we played flat, but we were NEVER worried about UT in the long run as long as Kiffin was there. His actions have backed up our gut about him. I'm not saying he wasn't good at Xs and Os, but he was plain and simply a fool. Rarely do external circumstances carry a fool to destruction faster than their own feet (or mouth in Kiffin's situation).

Man it just amazes me how many "Vol" fans there are out there that have a crystal ball and can see into the future to know Coach Dooley is going to fail!! I think Hamilton should have just looked on Volnation to find the next coach since there is so many football geniuses on this board!! Every coach was a no name at some point.

All of our rivals love this hire because they know we are not a threat anymore.
