My, oh my, what a difference a year can make in a squad.

Grats, Kyler, and well earned! And thanks for being a leader, too!

I gotta admit. I dogged this guy all off-season saying he shouldn't start. Boy did he prove me wrong. And I couldn't be more happy. LT looks solid this year.

I have to ask. Didn't he get a false start penalty? I'd have thought a penalty would make it tough to win an award like this. He must have squashed Bowling Green. Good for him.

If he can hold up against OU's pass rush it will be really telling and a hugely pleasant surprise from last year.

Congrats big man. The fans (at least most) know what kind commitment and work went into your off season. This fan is happy for you.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Tennessee Volunteers Kyler Kerbyson, OL, Tennessee

• Kerbyson headed up the Vols' offensive line which led the way for 604 yards of total offense including 399 rushing yards in a 59-30 win over Bowling Green.
• The rushing yardage total was the most since the Vols rushed for 406 yards vs. Vanderbilt in 1994.
• Tennessee had a pair of 100-yard running backs in a game for the first time since 2009 vs. Western Kentucky as Alvin Kamara (144) and Jalen Hurd (123) each broke the century mark.
• Joshua Dobbs also threw for 205 yards and was sacked just once.
• Tennessee's 59 points were the most since that Western Kentucky (63 points) game, which opened the 2009 season.

Coleman Thomas at center will compete for the award before he leaves. Congrats to Kyler who proved all of the VN keyboard jockeys wrong when they said he can't play LT. We'll see how he does against better competition, but he had a great start.

Glad to see him get some props. The OL definitely looked light years better. Let's hope it holds true against the OU defense this week.

I thought Coleman Thomas looked just as good if not better at Center. He had some excellent cut blocks downfield that paved the way for Hurd / Kamara TD's.

On Butch Jones TV show, KK talked about the amount of time DeBord spent with just the OL and how much it helped them. Ainge showed the role of the center in several plays and what a difference maker Thomas can be.
