Just got back in Seattle from the game.
I can't add anymore than what has been said in this thread about the gameplay, but would like to congratulate UT on their win. We all expected it, but still happy with Montana's showing.
The rain delay was a bummer, only because it cut into my drink time after the game.

You have a very physical team and won the battle at the line of scrimmage while absolutely dominating the Vol o-line both physically and mentally by mixing up schemes and executing. The vols are blessed with multiple home run threats that luckily hit for us in tonight's game which ultimately made the difference.
The amount of time that your D was on the field and still bringing it with physical play until the final whistle says all that you need to know about your team.
Best of luck to you the rest of the season.
What about during the game?
It's not like it's an alcohol free stadium.
Lisen here sunshine , I apologize for talking trash on a football forum to a team that talked it for 3 months. I'm sure you and your nurse co workers will find a good FCS forum to practice your BJ Coleman cheers in. I didn't play football in Crossville I played in Hainescity Florida . I sure Hope some day I can set next to you at A UT football game .Maybe you can teach me some first aid sweetyAnd an azz hole footballlover.I thought MT played a hell of a game.Great post by the OP not all of our fans our as Classless as this guy.Goodluck the rest of the way and I pay attention to FCS cause UTC is in my home town.Keep posting and tell us about the GRZZ would ya.
Volnation, I just stopped by to congratulate the city of Knoxville and the fans of Tennesse football on your win and the hospitality that was shown to us while down there. I for one had a great time in your state and although we were not able to witness all the pregame activities it was still a wonderful time. I can honestly say that me and my friends were not treated with any sort of disrespect while down there. Maybe a little fun banter but it was all in fun. Hell I met a lot of nice people and ended up spending a majority of my time with Vol fans. We even got invited back to watch the race in Bristol next August and we have decided to make that trip also. So again thanks for everything.
Obviously I wish the game was a little closer and wish we would not have turned the ball over, had a pick 6,gave up the flee-flicker, or gave up the 80 yard TD pass but its all part of the game. No excuses coming out of my mouth. We were definitely out played. I wish you guys the best and hope you dominate the SEC. I for one will be pulling for you!!! Good luck the rest of the season :hi::rock::good!:
I have lost all respect for Montana football. It appears their coaches are whining about Dooley trying to run up the score. Well.. if he wanted to run it up, trying wouldn't be a factor, it would just be done. I hope we do play again soon so your douche coach can see what it's like to really have someone run up the score.
Ah... let'em be upset. You got a link for that?

From what I saw on the first PI, they called the wrong number. It looked t me that like with the second PI the linebacker bumped Rivera off of his route. I also thought it was a bad call until I saw the replay. Two things in regard to that. I think visiting fans of any team naturally assume that the home team gets the breaks. I am quite certain that our Big Sky foes believe that they get homered all the time in Missoula.
Second, and perhaps more to the point. The refs in the Big Sky simply stink. There are a few good crews, but top to bottom we just dont attract quality crews. Every year, at least one team seems to have a legitimate gripe. Some dont seem to know the rules, some dont seem what they should, and others I swear dont care. I think that with Big Sky refs you assume the worse so that carries over.
I watched the replays, and calls that looked questionable in real time, looked correct when they slowed up. Didnt see that first pass interference though, but the later one with our lb was obvious push off on replay.

no one has said tenn ran up the score. Some of us have said tenn was trying to run up the score, but was unsuccessful. Pay attention if you are going to post on egriz and try to post with the big boys.

This whole "Vols ran up the score" stuff is bullsh.. : Montana Grizzlies Football and the FCS
Some posts about coach talking about the timeout on 4th down on his show and the coach not shaking Dooley's hand and other stuff
Hope this stupid post on Egriz don't give you guys too bad of a taste about Griz fans in general. These little crybabys b*thces whining that you guys ran up the score need to put on there big boy pants. I for one and I believe many Griz fans were glad you didn't take a knee or just kick a field goal. I don't believe in babying another team and I would feel more disrespected if you guys would have taken it easier on us. Again Ihad a great time and was very impressed by how friendly your fans were! :good!:
IMHO, UT could have run the score up big time. MT had 8 in the box and safeties flying up in run support. Both UT's and MT's linemen talked about the Griz DL playing run and taking away gaps.
I think the UT staff decided to work on the run game regardless after they got a comfortable lead. Had they made the adjustment to the D that was being played... it could have gotten VERY ugly. The deep third was there most of the game. Screens were there. Swing passes to RB's were there.
I sincerely HOPE it was a conscious choice by UT's coaches not to exploit those openings.
Hopefully some of the other Montana posters will post in this thread. No trolls from either side.
Game was pretty close to how I expected it to be. I predicted 41-13 in a couple of threads and it was close. In general, I thought our defense looked great against the run, but the secondary simply could not matchup against the Vols receivers, but we knew that going in. Classy comments from Dooley in regard to how Montana played the game, and how our Seniors stepped up on the defensive side.
On the offensive side, I believe that we found our quarterback in Jordan Johnson. I was very impressed how he handled himself tonight against a SEC opponent and he should have a long successful FCS career. I was surprised out TE's were not utilized more, but have no insight as to why that was, my internet signal kept dropping so I missed half the game. IMO, we should use Jordan Canada as our primary tailback.
I've not looked at the stats yet, but I think overall yardage & first down wise we did fairly well, perhaps better than I thought. I actually thought our defense would put us in better spots to score, and didnt expect the sustained drives.
Our special teams for returns and coverage sucked, just like last year. Nguyen fumbled 4 punt returns last year so I was surprised he was back there tonight, and sure enough he bobbled that first one after the 3 and out.
Congrats to Vol fans, you have a great fanbase - and I really hope you win 9+ games this year. Bray is going to be fantastic. Although you may be disappointed in how the game played out, please realize that we are not UT-Martin, and play in 1 of the 2 toughest FCS conferences in the country (earlier Big Sky foes Sac St beat Oregon State, and Eastern Washington had a chance at Washington).
I hope we both have long successful seasons. Good luck to all, and I'm remaining. Good chance I may move back to Knoxville area by end of year so you cant get rid of me that easily, if the trolls who want me gone...lol.
Thanks for the game from this Griz fan.
