Hopefully some of the other Montana posters will post in this thread. No trolls from either side.

Game was pretty close to how I expected it to be. I predicted 41-13 in a couple of threads and it was close. In general, I thought our defense looked great against the run, but the secondary simply could not matchup against the Vols receivers, but we knew that going in. Classy comments from Dooley in regard to how Montana played the game, and how our Seniors stepped up on the defensive side.

On the offensive side, I believe that we found our quarterback in Jordan Johnson. I was very impressed how he handled himself tonight against a SEC opponent and he should have a long successful FCS career. I was surprised out TE's were not utilized more, but have no insight as to why that was, my internet signal kept dropping so I missed half the game. IMO, we should use Jordan Canada as our primary tailback.

I've not looked at the stats yet, but I think overall yardage & first down wise we did fairly well, perhaps better than I thought. I actually thought our defense would put us in better spots to score, and didnt expect the sustained drives.

Our special teams for returns and coverage sucked, just like last year. Nguyen fumbled 4 punt returns last year so I was surprised he was back there tonight, and sure enough he bobbled that first one after the 3 and out.

Congrats to Vol fans, you have a great fanbase - and I really hope you win 9+ games this year. Bray is going to be fantastic. Although you may be disappointed in how the game played out, please realize that we are not UT-Martin, and play in 1 of the 2 toughest FCS conferences in the country (earlier Big Sky foes Sac St beat Oregon State, and Eastern Washington had a chance at Washington).

I hope we both have long successful seasons. Good luck to all, and I'm remaining. Good chance I may move back to Knoxville area by end of year so you cant get rid of me that easily, if the trolls who want me gone...lol.

Thanks for the game from this Griz fan.

I watched Montana play for the FCS Title in Chattanooga a couple years ago.You guys should have a shot at it this year.I think Jeff Fisher's son played on that team.Good luck the rest of the season.

You have a very physical team and won the battle at the line of scrimmage while absolutely dominating the Vol o-line both physically and mentally by mixing up schemes and executing. The vols are blessed with multiple home run threats that luckily hit for us in tonight's game which ultimately made the difference.

The amount of time that your D was on the field and still bringing it with physical play until the final whistle says all that you need to know about your team.

Best of luck to you the rest of the season.

Montana played a great game and really hung in there. If it weren't for some big plays, it would have been closer.

Just got in from the game and wanted to say that I was impressed with the grit from Montana and the fact that they didn't roll over after several explosive plays. Best of luck!

My own score prediction of 45-13 was also close, but the game felt a lot closer than the score indicated. Well, perhaps the final was fair, but when it was 28-0, it felt far from 28-0.

I hope that nobody can run on you all year, because if they can, it means our running game is really bad.

Your DL was STOUT tonight. Bottled up our run game, got a fair bit of pressure on Bray. It was truly great talent at QB and WR (at least the first two) that won the game for Tennessee. Without those three, it really could've been a 21-16 slugfest.

Also, I was impressed with the fan support. Obviously no spillover into the upper deck, but the visitor section was far from empty.

Thanks for being classy, and go tear through FCS this season.

I could care less about how Montana feels about their beat down. I would be ashamed.

Wow, really classy man...
Good job tonight by Montana, I don't think I can really add to what has already been said. Your guys played well, and they did so until the final whistle. I will be cheering for Montana for the rest of the year in the FCS.

The montana fans I talked to after were acting like babies..saying that the officiating was the main reason for the loss...made me crack up..they were acting like they were actually expecting to win, but got cheated..that's ridiculous..

Two things in regard to that. I think visiting fans of any team naturally assume that the home team gets the breaks. I am quite certain that our Big Sky foes believe that they get homered all the time in Missoula.

Second, and perhaps more to the point. The refs in the Big Sky simply stink. There are a few good crews, but top to bottom we just dont attract quality crews. Every year, at least one team seems to have a legitimate gripe. Some dont seem to know the rules, some dont seem what they should, and others I swear dont care. I think that with Big Sky refs you assume the worse so that carries over.

I watched the replays, and calls that looked questionable in real time, looked correct when they slowed up. Didnt see that first pass interference though, but the later one with our lb was obvious push off on replay.

Thanks Montana. I thought y'all played like warriors given the mismatch and home team advantage at a place like Neyland. You never quit which says a lot about your team's grit (most would've). You gave our o-line hell and played good solid football despite it all. I was impressed by both teams having such a penalty free game in an opener. Best of luck for the rest of the season.

You could care less or you couldn't care less?

Thanks for the classy post from the OP.

Great catch.

I'll let you guys do the pussy footing and e-handshaking. The "Grizz" fans have talked enough sh. Channeling Double A, they can go back to enjoying being the worlds' tallest midget.

With terms like pussyfooting to describe your fellow vol fans I can't imagine why you encountered ahole Grizz fans.

Seriously, you're gonna find those types in every fanbase, especially during a loss but by and large CFB fans are pretty darn good peeps all the way around (so long as the alcohol and tension hasn't gotten out of hand but football's an emotional game and even that happens sometimes). It's all about where you look and what your expectations are regardless of your team colors - I found even arch-rivals with bad fan reps that were great but I don't look for bad fans to hang out with either. I'm there at the games and here on the boards to have fun and celebrate.

I've met great LSU and Arkansas fans in particular. And having grown up with a classmate who was a bammer fan her tee shirts of us being put in graves with the slogan 'need another volunteer' got on my nerves but we still bet on the game and teased each other and had our own little rivalry that made the week leading up more fun.

You got a Point , they talked trash the whole time . The last score was On 2nd teamers, and the Goalline stand against 3rd stringers. I'm not gona say how great They was because when We played Defense and Not just a Base Zone We shut them Down (after the safety). Running game struggled with 8 in the box...I can promise we would have looked better if needed be. why would we show our hand against Montana ? This same griz poster talks trash about us on Montanas boards I have no need to rub shoulders with this kid.

Your starters remained in the game for the most part on offense until the 9 min mark of the 4th quarter. Personally I took that as a sign of respect by the coach. Why risk injury to Bray otherwise?

I can assure you I have spoken no "trash" as you put it on Montana's board. I find it funny that when we post something that another doesnt agree with its trash, and we're a troll. Sort of bizarre behavior, IMO people that consistently call out others as trolls are in all likelihood themselves close to it. A kid I am not, I'm old enough to be Dad to every player on the team...lol.
