Great game today.

At first, I was kind of pissed about the officiating. However, after looking at the box score, the calls were even. As a matter of fact, if you take out TX's fouls in OT to put TN on the line, it was probably more than even on TX's part.

It was a surreal experience because I was pissed on the inside during the 2nd half because our two best players were forced to the bench because of fouls YET the Vol fans were screaming at the officials as well. I've never been to a game in which both sides were overtly upset at the officiating.

The bottom line is that it wasn't the officiating that cost us the game. (I hope I didn't give the impression in my first two paragraphs.) TX was up 5, with the ball with about 90 seconds left. The funny thing was that I was jokingly yelling at the TX players to guard Lofton 10 feet beyond the 3-point line on that final possession. Maybe the defense should have extended to more like 15 feet. Anyway, I can't believe he hit that shot. Actually, I've seen him hit that shot many times.

The fans today were great. I appreciate the kind words from most of those around me and my 9 year-old daughter. I hate that I had to root against the Vols as they are quickly climbing up my ladder of teams to root for. My wife and most of my friends graduated from TN over the past 3 years.

I wish the series was yearly. Good luck the rest of the way. Maybe we'll meet again in the Final 4 or something. Both teams can only get better as they are two of the youngest teams in the NCAA.

Classy post, and you are right about everything in that post. The officiating was TERRIBLE for both sides. Don't recall seeing a game with so many bad calls/makeup calls. As for Lofton, what can you say. The kid is amazing. I sure am glad he is on our side and I get to watch him make these plays in just about EVERY big game we have.

Texas has a great, young team. Durant is something special. He will be an NBA All-Star very soon, if not next year. Good luck with the rest of your season and stop by every once in a while...

The officiating, as you said, was awful both ways. It was the only thing wrong with the game.

Good Post. Thanks for being level-headed and not living in fantasy-land where the refs only call things on the opposing team.

Thanks for the classy post! You guys have an awesome team already and can't wait to see them at the end of the year. They're going to do great in the tournament. I would love to see Durant stay and play another year... he is something special.

Very classy post. Why can't some of the Texas fans down here have a little bit of a sense of reality.

Ditto. Nice to hear that you were treated well by the UT fans in your section; this has not always been the case in certain games I've attended, particularly when UK or Florida are in town.

Man I was at the game and Durrant is a beast! Very mobile and almost hit a 3 at the end playing over 5 minutes with 4 fouls. And last but not least a true freshman! If We only had this guy on our side it would be nasty!!!!

Agreed. He is the real deal. Unfortunately for Texas, he will only be there 1 year. I see him being an NBA superstar VERY SOON.

Good win for the VOLS THOUGH

Kevin Durant is the real deal. I would be surprised if he's even around for his sophmore year at Texas.

Classy post. It was a great game - one of the best that I've seen live at TBA. I'm also glad that your experience with the Tennessee fans wasn't an unpleasant one. Your team will probably continue to improve as the year goes on, and will be a tough team to knock out come tourney time. Hopefully the same can be said for the Vols.

I went to see the Lady Vols last weekend, and from the treatment I received before, during and after the game I can say that I think RBC is a typical Texas BB fan. I have never been treated better at any opposition venue.

BTW, Texas fans are still very appreciative of our treatment of the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl. :clapping:
