Congrats, but Hurd got benched and he knows it

Here is what happened. CBJ forced Debord to make better play calls by taking Hurd out of the game. We didn't see many up the gut throw away 1 to 2 yard gains on first and second down. CBJ took the shovel away from Debord so he couldn't dig us in a hole on first downs.

This is just a theory based on nothing. For entertainment purposes only.

Anyone who thinks Jalen got benched for fumbling in the end zone, well, you're a special kind of stupid. Coaches don't bench their best players because they made a mistake - even though it was a bone head move. Yes, he should have immediately tucked the ball. Yes, he should have assumed someone was barreling down on him, but he didn't. Huge mistake, and I'm pretty sure he learned a valuable lesson.

Jalen got hit pretty hard before his TD play in the 3rd quarter. His head hit the ground with significant impact, and they spent a few moments digging grass out of his face mask. He was rattled at that point, and probably shouldn't have returned, but he didn't say anything until after the TD play.

They benched him from that point. He started feeling better and wanted to go back in, but they didn't really want to take chances with him. I'm not sure what the protocol is for concussions or suspected concussions, but that's why he got shut down.

I think it's this.

CBJ probably came up with the "lower extremity" to avoid being called on the carpet for putting him in on the last play.

No one plays harder than Hurd and represents Tennessee like Hurd. I feel bad for him that he had to learn a tough lesson and did not score. No coach allows a player to score a TD and then benches him for a play that was before the TD pass. Dumbest thread title ever

I love Jalen but, Butch sent him a message. Jalen played on last kickoff return play. #1 was clearly on field it wasn't Kongbo, only thing hurt are some feelings. Jalen was one of the fastest players across field after winning catch. He's fine.

we must play better defense run and pass. pressure on the QB is the key. but we must get off the holds refs ain't gonna call it. Georgia is the holdingest team I ever seen. I saw holding on a lot of plays. but poetic justice at the end

Ever think that the rules keep "evolving" - sometimes for "player safety" even though the same things don't seem to apply equally to offense and defense - so that the game can become a high scoring freak show like basketball? Interesting that defensive players don't get the same consideration for a straight arm to the head or face mask that an offensive player does, and how does a defensive duck obviously pulling an offensive lineman around the field not constitute holding by the attached offensive truck?

Nothing. Just a random initial. Interestingly, I picked that expression up in the 9th grade from the father of a classmate who had allegedly robbed a bank and got away with it.

Your random fact of the day. :hi:

Thanks I had heard before it stands for "Holy"

Hate to be the guy to speak blasphemy, but Kamara may be a better fit for our offense. Hope we see closer to 50-50 snaps from here in.

I always liked the answer that it stands for Haploid, because with only one parent he'd have been short a set of chromosomes.

My old roommate used to say it stands for Huckleberry, which actually kind of works. When God said, "I need someone to go hang with the nasties and then take a few nails for me," his boy said, "Pops -- I'm your Huckleberry."
