Enjoy a miracle epic win that puts us in the driver's seat in the East. Let Butch and Jalen sort out his lower body issue. Nothing good will come out of a public dissection and debate. If it's discipline, let it play out. If it's a minor injury, let it play out. Keep drama in the locker room and off the press conference. Jalen is a great player, and sometimes a lower body injury reminds great players of what it takes to remain a great player.

It makes no sense that he benched him after he scored a much needed TD. If he was going to be punished why wasn't he after the first mistake? It's not like other players didn't make mistakes too. Hell Kamara had a fumble too- he didn't get benched. I remember Butch helping Hurd get the grass out of his helmet on the sideline after a run- he didn't seem mad then. We needed him at the end of the game on offense. That's his type of play not Kamara's.

Anyone who thinks Jalen got benched for fumbling in the end zone, well, you're a special kind of stupid. Coaches don't bench their best players because they made a mistake - even though it was a bone head move. Yes, he should have immediately tucked the ball. Yes, he should have assumed someone was barreling down on him, but he didn't. Huge mistake, and I'm pretty sure he learned a valuable lesson.

Jalen got hit pretty hard before his TD play in the 3rd quarter. His head hit the ground with significant impact, and they spent a few moments digging grass out of his face mask. He was rattled at that point, and probably shouldn't have returned, but he didn't say anything until after the TD play.

They benched him from that point. He started feeling better and wanted to go back in, but they didn't really want to take chances with him. I'm not sure what the protocol is for concussions or suspected concussions, but that's why he got shut down.

Why Vol fans love to rag on Hurd is beyond me. He's too big, he's not fast enough, he's not running like he did last yr (completely buill**** btw), etc.

Yeah and trying to say he got benched after his TD? That's pretty crazy and like Vol74 said you don't bench your top players if/when they make a dumb mistake. Hope Jalen is ok and is just a precautionary reaction to keep him out. We will need him immensely for the next 2 games.

I suspect opposing defenses would prefer tackling Kamara half of Hurds carries too. AK is a change of pace back but Hurd has to have 20 carries a game to wear down the defense. If you're only going to run him 10-12 times, you might as well not have him.

I'm sure that there is more to the story than we know about, we may never know what really happened to get him benched.

But, I'm guessing that you are right it was something that happened after the TD, because he didn't play after that.

Pretty sure he was injured. He would have been in on pass protection the last play. Hope he good.
