This is a decent staff. I hope CDD can bring in Tommy Spangler and Garner. That would complete the defensive staff, IMO.

that is good news. Really happy to have Chaney and Thompson back. Are we certain he is the defensive coordinator? I have not seen that confirmed.

Were was it confirmed that Lance Thompson is the new DC. Link?

Anyone have any thoughts on Thompson as DC? I don't really know much about him other than his supposed recruiting abilities.

I like the retention of Chaney as OC. I think he will probably like the change since he will likely be calling the plays now instead of that adolescent slime-ball that must bolted town.

Lance was DC at UCF, and was seemingly within 5 feet of Monte on the practice field and sidelines for 14 months.

I'm a UCF student and Thompson was fired as the UCF DC a few years ago... Although he was unsuccessful here, he has had a couples years of experience under Nick Saban and one year under Monte Kiffin... So hopefully he will be successful.. GBO!!!

Nice to see Thompson and Chaney still on. If we can get Garner back up here this could really turn out to be a solid staff.

+1. Lance said from the start that the ONE thing that brought him here was to learn under Monte. That is one reason why he was on Monte's hip the entire season last year. He's the closest thing to retaining Monte on staff as we could hope.

What's more is Monte really raved about him in interviews about LT's credentials as a coach, and not just a recruiter.

LT and Chaney are the 2 remaining bright spots of this team, and without them, I'd be utterly depressed bout our prospects next year.

What Joseph is doing on this staff is a puzzle to me. Like Dooley, he has no credentials to sell a recruit.
