I dont think this game is going to be as tough as some, Pitt barely beat a WVU team who's projected win total was 5.5 for this year and who went 6-7 last year. That crowd will be a factor but we should travel well and make plenty of noise for the good guys. Slovis looked slow going through progressions however those receivers fought for the ball and played fast. Pat Narduzzi's teams always have solid line play. Overall not concerned, we get out ahead early and as long as we finish, we win by 14+ against a ranked opponent.

WVU had one win over a team that finished with a winning record out of their 5 FBS wins... Iowa State who was 7-6. The combined record of the teams WVU beat last year was 25-37... then they got worse.

Narduzzi is feeling himself. Ainge called him crazy. He more or less said that Slovis looked bad at times because WR's weren't where they were supposed to be or were late. Slovis has straight line speed but he's not a runner like Pickett. If his receiver timing is off then UT's blitzes should get to him a lot.

Based on what?

The only thing I can think of to make someone believe that is if they assume UT's D will take a significant step back from last year and is not better/more talented than WVU.

If this is a "tough" game then either UT makes a lot of mistakes or the D is bad. Pitt is pretty close to a known quantity at this point.

Ainge doesn't have a lot respect for Pat Narduzzi or Shane Beamer because of their mouths and antics, and I can certainly see why.

If we come out focused and play to our abilities we will win this game. We got to stuff their runs and get them in down and distance. Got to watch for the screens and dump passes. On offense our O-line has to set the tone and get into a good tempo early. Good execution of our offense should help us put up some good points.GBO!

Huh? It didn't work because throws were missed. It worked pretty well vs Mizzou, USCe, et al.
You right. I thought we went up 21-0 on Pitt last year, but it was only 10-0. Seemed like we had all the momentum in the first quarter with the blocked punt, etc, but yeah obviously rather be up 21-0 on someone than not. Just hated how that second quarter unfolded.

Don't get me wrong, I hope we win...But you have a lot of confidence playing a ranked team on the road...This will be a tough game...
