CONAN EXILES!
Conan Exiles in it's own right is an excellent game. It's in the same genre as Ark, 7 Days to Die, Valheim and etc. That is to say it's about FPS combat, building a base, surviving hordes, adventuring etc. However where it excels over the other games is the adventuring. There are genuine Dungeons, NPC's, Stories, a rich Mythology based on the awesome works of Robert E Howard, and the world is designed more for grown ups. While it is not sexually explicit, It is not shy about nudity and the world is full of hardbodies of men and women you'd expect from the old Conan the Barbarian, Conan Destroyer, Beast Master, and other 80's Fantasy and action flicks. In this world Rambo at his buffest is average, and the women are mostly Amazons and Shield Maidens of every culture imaginable. All teh artworks is like a love letter to Frazetta and Vallejo. However as good as the base game is.......it's just the platform. The real game changer is the mods. This platform is one of the most modded games you've never heard of.
Age of Calamitous is just ONE mod that probably has more content then base game.
Imagine Skyrim, Minecraft, Ark, AD&D, all had a grandchild, and it was modded forwards and backwards by very skilled programmers with way too much time on their hands, (Covid years partially responsible no doubt). I been playing one of many modpacks on steam for TLE. It has been amazing. I would say the base game is pretty much 20% of content now....80% all coming from mod. The original game takes you to level 60. With the mods level 60 is barely getting started it raises it to level 600 and you always have more to do, and then you can assend to blend yet more class and skill paths by starting over and getting to lvl 600 again.....there is ALWAYS more to do. If you like building crafting, and 80's action flicks....and a strong connection to RPG elements. this is the best game I have found to tick those boxes.
The server I am on.
P.S. negatives. This is heavily modded game, the more into mods you go the more bugs and issues you may come across. It's probably not a game for the mod wary. There are plenty of guides for setting up modpacks for specific servers, but no two modded servers are alike, you'll have to customize your mods through workshop with the server you want to play on in mind.
If you have a problem with anything Not woke or un-pc this game isn't for you, violence, slavery, murder, thieving, and jingoist rewards are all in the game. This is Conan's world. It is a harsh world.
I would not recommend this game for kids for the same reasons, unless you can host your own server and lock things like nudity down. But this is really an adult oriented game.
