I love the ridiculousness of some of these CFB computer rankings. According to the following polls, Tennessee should lose to Ohio University:

Omnivore (Omnivore College Football Computer Rankings, Week 3 (2009))

Ohio #57 UT #102

---------------

Claassen (2009*Claassen*Rankings)

Ohio #50 UT #65

---------------

Junky's (Junky's College Football Rankings - All Team Rankings)

Ohio #53 UT #70

---------------

Colley (Colley's Bias Free College Football Rankings)

Ohio #57 UT #88

---------------

and my personal favorite:

ISR (ISR)

Ohio #16! UT #91

----------------

We should be very careful this weekend, regardless. But some suggest we shouldn't be favored to begin with.

Interestingly enough, at first glance, the thing in your avatar looks like a piece of crap to me, and that's exactly how I think of those computer rankings.

Tim McGraw picked Ohio over Tennessee this morning in the Tennessean. That's okay though the only thing he ever did right was have a hot wife.

We could lose to anyone on our schedule this year with our inept offense.

I have Ohio at 47 and Tennessee at 85.

This is just because Ohio is 2-1, Tennessee is 1-2, and through three weeks, strength of schedule is not that developed. Computers need more data to be able to tell who should be ranked where. I say, let's give the computers something to think about by beating Ohio.

LOGIC: The name on the front of the jersey, the team's expectations, and last year's finish all have NO bearing on my, and I presume most, computer polls. All that matters is what has happened on the field, so far, this season. The Gators have beaten Charleston Southern, Troy, and 1-2 Tennessee, all at home. That is why they are ranked so low this early in the season.

I just put the website up a week ago. It needs a lot of work. In particular, I need to add an explanation of the poll.

Did he really do that? I just lost all of my respect to him, and his father.

You HAD respect for Tim McGraw???? HE sucks, he's bald, he's a terrible actor, terrible singer, ect.......

Dad was great and wife is HOT! So he is not a total loser, but close!

Bored? It takes about 30-45 minutes, if that, per week, to keep my poll updated.

They hung with a "decent" UConn team and beat a Cal Poly team that took Wisconsin to OT last year by 18. They're no Charleston Southern, that's for sure

I know that SOS is not a factor in many polls, and that won-loss record, no matter the teams involved, is paramount. But it still interesting to look at the various polls and wonder.

Honestly, though, according to that ISR poll, we haven't played the toughest teams on our schedule: Kentucky, Auburn, 'Bama, and Ohio. Just kinda funny.

Thank God we didn't schedule Indiana or Baylor this year.

Fine. Somebody should let him know he's not welcome in Neyland any longer and hire extra security to see to it he can't enter anymore.
