Complete utter disgrace and you shouldnt accept it!

Reality check. Unless you haven't noticed the last 5 1/2 years, this is Tennessee. It is frustrating, but it is what it is. At least we have a coach that I can respect. I'm good with where we are now, and I support Butch 100%, and we will continue to but tickets to support him and his family. I am praying for their sakes that Butch is successful here. We will be at the Auburn game doing our part to hopefully get another big win this year!

I think Butch could have too, if he had Tyler Bray, Codarelle Patterson, Justin Hunter, Zach Rodgers.....

Your logic is unacceptable and certainly alarming!

Auburn is vulnerable if we can a) pressure their QB b) we can tighten our secondary and not give up big pass plays like Saturday c) have some receivers catch the damn ball!

Im ready to hear all the excuses in the world after that DISGRACEFUL display of football on Saturday. Now, I knew we really didn't have a chance at winning that game, and that's fine. But, you're telling me that we couldn't even score a touchdown...ONE TOUCHDOWN?!!! Speed or not enough speed, this is THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE! We aren't UTEP or some cupcake that rolls into Faurot Field, but that's how we played and its unacceptable! Our Vols played scrared and like little b#%tches. Tiny Richardson and Josh Smith need to get their act together. That drop for a TD was pitiful!

I know Ill get crucified for bi t ch ing and moaning and being negative but somebody has to step up once and a while and do it....ITS NEEDED! Quit coddling this team and making excuses for them. Again, I don't care that we lost..it was to be expected. But, for that team to come out and bumble the way they did is inexcusable. CJB knows it and it showed on his face the whole night. He looked so red in the face because he and our fans were embarrassed! I guarantee Dooley would have scored ONE touchdown with this same team..and hes the worst coach ever to walk the sidelines.

Yes, I will be happy with a 6-6 record and a bowl game win considering our brutal schedule. But, that performance was unacceptable and its alarming.

You sir, are an idiot. Nuff said.

I'm going to keep saying this. It is the nature of any rebuilding football team to fluctuate between great performances and those that are dismal. It's a part of the rebuilding process. Only later does the team cross a threshold of talent & confidence after which it plays well every week regardless of the competition.

Example #1: In 1964, Doug Dickey's first year, the Vols tied #7 LSU 3-3 in Baton Rouge despite being heavy underdogs. Then next week they beat the new #7 team, Ga. Tech, 22-14. Boy oh boy, we thought, we're 4-2-1, a lock for a good bowl! However, the Vols then lost to Ole Miss, Vandy, and Kentucky by the combined score of 7-47. That's how it goes in a rebuilding year.

BTW, somewhere along the way they turned the corner. In 1965 the Vols went 8-1-2, tied eventual natl champion Bama 7-7, and were themselves ranked #7 at season's end.

Example #2: Johnny Majors' 1st 6 seasons at UT (1977-82) featured stunning upsets of highly-ranked teams and shocking losses to mediocre ones. We should not be surprised if the same pattern holds true this year and the next with CBJ. But if he really does "get it," we'll eventually see the same as with Dickey and later Majors: Tennessee teams that have the talent & confidence to play and beat any team in the country.

Yeah. Anything but saying everything is rosy and perfect is being an idiot, right? The true idiocy is denying the obvious. The game Saturday was poorly coached. Jones is now saying that the play we saw is "unacceptable" but will changes be made or are those just words?

This is spot on. I wanted to be the one to post it, but haven't had time. No need to now.

Mizzou has better talent
No.
and coaching than UT.
At least for 11/2/2013, yes.

But CBJ should be questioned because of the blowouts. Not that it is directly his fault, but he has not been perfect this season. Again, that is not putting our coach down. He should be able to make a difference against a team like Mizzou, if he is a championship caliber coach.
Agree. Have said so since months before the season started.

We may have a very good coach in CBJ. We don't know yet. Let's not celebrate sharing the Big East title. He is in the SEC now. This is big boy football.

It's okay to question leadership.

Agree... and it isn't like we (I) have not celebrated his successes too.

I didn't like the performance either but its a new week. But we got something to cheer about Evan & Elliot commited to us. GO VOLS!

Right here is cause for concern. We shouldn't ink Vandy in as a gimme. If we played them on the road, I'd be very concerned. We'll probably be favored by 7 points or less for homefield advantage... unless we pull out a W for Homecoming.

Bigger, faster, stronger... undeniably so.

If . . . and it's a big if . . . this is true, then the much discussed and certainly amorphous "talent" doesn't have a whole lot to do with being a good football player.

Mizzou has better football players and a whole lot more of them. Perhaps they are smaller, slower and weaker, but they won the vast number of the individual match-ups on both sides of the ball all night.

Undeniably so . . . to borrow a phrase.

You are the same type of idiot that was calling for Saban to be fired after his first year at bama. People like you always want something for free and you want it yesterday. You have no grasp of reality, not a clue, as to what it takes to build us back to the top. Nothing worth having comes easy. Butch will get it done.

Can you people really be happy after that performance? Really? How are you just so la de da after every pummeling?

If you had any idea about the status of the football program when CBJ arrived last DEC., you would be ashamed of what you wrote. Take the program for what it was and where it is going. If you really are a Tennessee football fan, please don't show your lack of knowledge about the program. It is better not to post if you know nothing about the subject.

so....how does DD coaching UT have anything to do with Toledo, Indiana, et al....connect those dots for me please....

Did any of those teams start an 18 yr old freshman who had participated in 2 whole quarters of NCAA football....you are as clueless as OP

I cannot figure out why some people have a hard time understanding where this program is at today, and why they think we are supposed to be competitive with teams that are much better than we are. We are playing the toughest schedule in the nation. I don't care what anyone says about it being the 3rd toughest. It is THE toughest, and we are playing it with no depth whatsoever, young and inexperienced players, a whole new coaching staff for the 3rd time in 6 years, and other reasons that are too numerous really to mention here.
Gheez people....get a clue. CBJ is doing a great job all things considered. This schedule is beginning to wear on these kids because of not having any depth. It seems like all of the "negavols" don't come around much when we beat somebody, but man, let us lose and they come out of the woodwork even when it's to a team that we weren't supposed to win anyway with all of their whining and b..ing.

I don't think anyone is happy about it. You can raise all the heck you want to and throw a temper tantrum if you want and it wont change a thing.

So most people don't waste their time ranting and raving about something beyond their control.

Also I don't think any fan could be any more disappointed in that loss than the man who is now the caretaker for Tennessee football.

It happened. Time to learn what they can from it so they can get stronger and move on.

Not to mention the fact they had a couple chances to score and couldn't because of the youth at QB.
